The following changes are introduced in AMS Machinery Manager 6.3:
System Requirements
Added support for Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB) or also recently
known as Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) for client workstations and for laptops used with AMS
2600 systems.
Added support for VMware ESXi 6.0 compatible with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016.
Internet Explorer 11 or later version is required for AMS Machinery Manager. The Dashboard uses web
controls that are installed with Internet Explorer.
Refer to the System Requirements document for a list of all supported operating systems and complete
system requirements.
AMS Machinery Manager has an updated database engine allowing file formats supported by MS Access
2007 or later (*.accdb) to be supported in AMS Machinery Manager.
Beginning this release, all newly created RBMview databases use the *.accdb file format by default and
existing databases are in *.mdb file format. You can change the default file format in RBM Network
Administration.
If you want to change existing * .mdb databases to *.accdb, contact Product Support.
File formats supported by MS Access 2010 or earlier (*.mdb) will continue to work in AMS Machinery
Manager.
The Dashboard is a new tab in AMS Machinery Manager and it is displayed when launching the software.
The Dashboard displays a quick summary on the status of your equipment, prediction units, and
databases. It has two tabs that display KPIs (key performance indicators) and database information.
Some KPIs would launch either the Vibration Analysis application or RBMView in context.
AMS Machinery Manager Network Server and clients can be installed on a virtual machine in the
Microsoft Azure cloud. Cloud setups are only supported for use with the AMS 2140. Refer to the
Installation Guide for setup instructions.
Analysis bookmarks
From the Vibration Analysis application, you can now bookmark or tag plots that you want to easily locate
and launch Vibration Analysis in context from the Dashboard. Analysis bookmarks can be placed on
periodic data plots, such as waveform and spectrum data collected from an AMS 2140. Analysis
bookmarks may not be applied for some types of data such as AMS 2140 jobs or and AMS 6500 transient
data plots.
The database limit for each *.rbm database is increased from 2GB to 32GB.
The expanded database size will not impact system performance under normal conditions, however,
Emerson recommends archiving databases as needed, depending on the performance of your database
and the needs of analysts. If you find that your database is not performing as expected, please contact
Product Support.
When upgrading to v6.3, you will need to update the schema of databases that were created prior to v6.3.
Run the database schema converter tool to convert databases. Emerson recommends copying the
Extras\5.x DB Schema Converter folder from the installation media to your computer. See the Installation
Guide for details.
A password is now required for all AMS Machinery Manager users including the Administrator. After
installation, when you log on for the first time as the Administrator, you will be prompted to reset the
password.
