Aquarelle Pattern v2 PDF

This document provides the pattern and instructions for creating Aquarelle, an ethereal shawl inspired by watercolor paintings. The shawl is worked in sections using multiple colors of yarn in garter stitch and chevron patterns. It begins with a small cast on that increases out to form the base. Successive sections add borders and texture through yarnovers, bobbles and short rows. The pattern is over 20 pages and provides detailed instructions, diagrams and a glossary to clearly guide the knitter in creating this beautiful piece.

AQUARELLE
Caroline Hegwer
Aquarelle
*Before You Start*
Aquarelle was inspired by the beautiful watercolors of a
French artist, Marie Laurencin. Celadons and corals often
dominate her paintings of women. Aquarelle captures the
ethereal qualities of the paintings. The colors and patterns
grow and flow into each other, taking your needles and your
eyes on a poetic journey. The harmony of the yarns used was
created with natural dyes.
