MODULE 3 : LEARNING BASIC GIMP CONCEPTS

Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 9:30-12:00 am Time Frame: 1 week

OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

 Work with images, layers, and selection


 Undo commands
 Create a new project
 Open and save our work.
 Exhibit awareness of the tools around them that may be useful now and in the future.

INTRODUCTION

GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such
tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has many capabilities. It can be
used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing
system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.

PRE-ASSESSMENT
 Direction: Answer the following questions. Write your answer on Activity Answer Sheet given
in the last page of this module.

 What does Photo Editing mean?


 What is your favorite Photo editor? What do you like to do in your spare
time?
