Course Description: This course covers the characteristics equation of a matrix; orthogonal-
ity; matrix factorizations; canonical forms; direct sum decomposition of vector spaces; bilinear,
quadratic and positive definite forms.

Prerequisite(s): Linear Algebra I [Math1051].

5. Find and apply the LU factorization of a matrix,
6. Understand the Gram-Schmidt process,

8. Find an orthogonal complement of a subspace,
9. Recognize and invert orthogonal matrices,
10. Comprehend the three canonical forms of matrices.
