Instructions Update MVX Control System Via MVX-Control
MCU
1. Read and write down the license key:
Main control unit >> Button Menu >> Information >> Reference Info >> License key.
2. Ensure to use the correct program version of MVX-Control, that are compatible with your firmware
versions of cards in PTS. (Compatible with the control system and versions of files *.BOT).
3. PC >> USB cable >> Serial adapter ADAM >> cable with wires +, -, A and B >> connected to card.
4. A: Download the saved settings, that you might have saved in My Documents as ex. Line_1_2017-06-
15.mvx. This is done via MVX Control >> Menu >> File >> Open.
After this you will see list with equipment’s and the line is ready for programming.
B: Do a Scan – press button Upload Equipments and select Normal Scan. Eventual errors in settings
for specific equipment will be reported in a pop-up window, click OK/Close to proceed.
When ready, a scan result will appear in a pop-up window, just click OK.
5. Get and move the control software files (firmware) to your PC, for example to the folder My
Documents.
Release of firmware is in found in a folder named "Boot files encrypted”. The files are named *.BOT.
Each file has firmware for each type of card/pcb bellow:
IMPORTANT/CAUTION
Cards with different software versions cannot be mixed in same PTS line. Old and new versions of
firmware are not compatible.
The PC-Supervision must be in version that is compatible with the release of control program
software (firmware) that is to to be updated.
6. In MVX Control >> Menu command Settings >> Boot program >> Select control program files. Select
firmware, file after file, from the place where you have the new release "Boot files encrypted".
Remember to set Serial nr = 12345 12345 12345 12345 instead for "00000".
NOTE:
A. You may choose to update all equipments at once via "Select All". Check box “Update firmware”.
Then use button Start programming.
First the equipments with MVX-MVX PCBs like diverters and LVX, then equipments with EI panels like
automatic stations, then stations with LT panels, and the last - MCU.
After programming is finished, the system must be restarted by button Reset in the MVX Control
program or menu function Reset in MCU or the best is Power OFF/ON the PTS at PSU.
8. When system restarts, usually you will have the error message ”Error in Settings” in MCU. Just
switch of the message via MCU >> Menu >> Reset - Cancel >> Cancel.
9. Sometimes the license code is erased. Insert it again via Menu >> Settings >> License code.
A. Via MCU:
Menu >> Settings >> Equipment data >> equipment number.
Select and change parameter EQUIPMENT TYPE to somethings else, then reselect the correct type of
equipment and press OK – Enter. Now this equipment is setup with factory settings.
Scroll through the parameters, check all settings and change when needed.
11. Save the settings as a file *.MVX in My Documents etc. As example Line_1_new_date.mvx. This is
done via MVX Control >> Menu >> File >> Save as.
12. After programming of settings, the system must be restarted by button Reset in the MVX Control
program or menu function Reset in MCU or the best is Power OFF/ON the PTS at PSU.
IMPORTANT! After all units are programmed, do not forget to set lines in ON mode when opening
MVX System Center.
