Solar Project Proposal - SV Pittie Textiles, Sohar

This document outlines the scope of work for a proposed 7.5MW solar PV project at SV Pitti Textiles in Sohar, Oman. Key aspects of the project include installing solar panels on the roofs of three locations, constructing an inverter room, and connecting the solar power to the existing 415V distribution systems. The solar system will provide power during peak daytime loads and the plant will still receive power from the grid at night. The scope of work covers electrical, civil, external approval, project management, and procurement aspects of the solar PV installation and integration.

SOLAR PROJECT PROPOSAL – SV PITTIE TEXTILES, SOHAR

Electrical – Observations & Scope of Work

Observations:

1. Locations
1.1. Spinning Unit-2
1.2. Training centre/Admin block
1.3. Open End Unit (Phase-1)
2. At present the plant is fed by 3 Nos. of 11kV sources from 2 x 20MVA PSS of Majan Electricity Co.
(MJEC) located near SVP.
3. 3 Distribution stations (415V) are located in SVP namely DSS-1, DSS-2 & DSS-3.
4. Total connected load at DSS-1 is 3MW
5. Total connected load at DSS-2 is 6MW
6. Total connected load at DSS-3 is 6MW
7. Hence the total connected load for the Plant is 15MW. This demand comes down to 7.5MW at night
times due to the process requirements.
8. SVP advised that Solar PV power generation may be of maximum 7.5MW capacity as per MJEC’s
instruction.
9. Solar PV panels shall be installed on the roof of all 3 locations.
10. Inverter room shall be constructed separately and location will be identified by SVP.
11. Solar power shall be hooked up to the existing LV systems (415V) available at 3 DSS.
12. Existing LV switchgear can be extended with new Incomers and space availability has been checked.
13. Solar PV system shall be designed to serve the plant during peak loads in day time. No energy
storage is proposed. At night times, the plant will continue to receive power from MJEC grid.
14. Synchronization between MJEC source and Solar PV will be finalized by SVP.
