At The End of The Lesson, The Students Should Be Able To

The document outlines a lesson plan that teaches students about internal computer hardware components. It includes objectives, subject matter, procedures, and evaluation sections. The procedures section details teacher and student activities where the teacher will use a presentation to define hardware, discuss components like the CPU, memory, motherboard, power supply, hard drive and video card. Students are quizzed through riddles to identify each component. They then practice identifying the components and discussing their functions. The evaluation asks students to name components and their functions in writing.

A Detailed Lesson Plan in

ICT-7

Date: February 24, 2021

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Define Computer Hardware; and
b. Enumerate the internal hardware components of a computer system; and
c. Identify the functions of the internal hardware components of a computer system.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Internal Hardware Components
Materials: Teacher’s Laptop, Projector, Powerpoint Presentation, Computer Hardware
References: Ronaldo v. Ramilo, ICT Computer Hardware Servicing page 6-10

III. Procedures
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
A. PREPARATION
1. Daily Routine
Good morning class! Let us pray first…. (Everybody will stand and pray)
Lead the prayer _________.

2. Greetings
Again, good morning class! Before seating, make sure Good morning, ma’am.
that there are no scattered papers under your chairs. (Students will pick scattered papers and
arranged their chairs)
You may now take your seats.
Thank you, ma’am.

3. Checking of Attendance
Who is absent today? Nobody ma’am.
B. LESSON PROPER
1. MOTIVATION

Before we start our next topic. I have a question.

Class, what am I holding in my hands? Ma’am, it is an apple.

If I am going to eat this apple, what parts of my body will Students will answer.
function?

What happens if one of the parts is missing, for example, It’s not possible and difficult because if one
the teeth were missing, is it possible to eat this apple? couldn’t chew something large to get it
small enough to pass through the esophagus,
Very good! Each parts has different roles and functions. then they choke.

2. PRESENTATION

Can you think of an example of a system, that if other Ma’am, computer system. if the one part is
parts are missing it will not function well? missing. The computer will not function
well.

Yes, it is right. I’m comparing our body system and

computer system to our topic for today which is the
Internal Hardware components of a computer system.
3. DISCUSSION
a. Define computer hardware system.

What is your idea about a computer hardware system?

Ma’am this is a system of interconnected
Yes, it is correct the computer hardware system is made computers that share a central storage system
up of complete peripheral devices. and other peripherals devices.

b. Class, what are the internal parts/components

of the computer? Ma’am cpu, memory, motherboard, power
supply, hard drive, video card
Yes, and each component plays an important role,
without each other, computer systems will not work
properly.

Class, I will group you into four groups. You will answer
the Riddle in 5 seconds.

A computer has many parts and each part has its job. Let
us pretend that a computer is a person.

c. The students will answer the Riddle.

I am like your brain. I do all the thinking and makes

everything work. I controls all the other parts of the
computer. Just like your brain controls your body. What
am I? CPU:
The student will read the definition:
The teacher will explain. The CPU 'controls' what the computer does
and is responsible for performing
calculations and data processing.

I am like the skin and skeleton of the computer. I holds

every part together and makes sure each part can work
with one another. What am I?

Motherboard:
The teacher will explain.
The student will read the definition:
It is the basis of the computer. It is the first
component installed in the system unit and
holds all the circuitry that ties the functions
of the computer components together.

I am like the hands of the human body. If a person has

more hands, they can do more things at once and
multitask more efficiently because of me. What am I?

RAM:
The student will read the definition:
RAM is used to temporarily store
The teacher will explain. information that is currently in use by the
computer.

I am like the heart. Just like the heart that has to pump
blood throughout the body, I have to make sure there is
enough power for all the parts in the computer or it will
not work. What am I?

The teacher will explain. Power supply:

The student will read the definition:
Located inside the system unit that primarily
converts AC to low voltage regulated DC. It
has fan, casing and receptacle.

I am like a stomach. It is where everything is stored.

Pictures, movies, documents, are all stored in me. The
bigger the the size, the more it could hold. What am I?

Hard disk drive:

The student will read the definition:
The teacher will explain. A rigid platter or stack of platters with a
magnetic surface that stores information.
This disk serves as the computer’s primary
means of storage, holding almost all of the
programs and files.

I am like the eyes of a person with very bad eyesight. I let

you see everything that is happening but needs eyeglasses
to show you. Without me, you can't see what you're
doing. What Am I?

Video Card:
The student will read the definition:
The teacher will explain. Graphics cards are hardware devices that
plug into the motherboard and enables the
computer to display images on the monitor.

4. APPLICATION
The teacher will let the students identify the internal
hardware components.

Hard Disk Drive

RAM

CPU

POWER SUPPLY
5.

MOTHERBOARD
GENERALIZATION

Class, what did we discuss today?

What are the internal hardware components of a

computer and its function?
VIDEO CARD

Very Good class!

Do you understand the parts and function of the internal

hardware components of Computer system class?
Ma’am the internal hardware components of
the Computer System.

(some students will raise their hand)

Yes ma’am.
IV. EVALUATION
Name the following Internal Hardware Components and give their corresponding functions.

IV. ASSIGNMENT
List down at least ten (10) examples of hand tools used in computer hardware and servicing. Place your
answer in a one-fourth sheet of paper. Be able to pass it next meeting.
