Monday 14/02/11 1) First day, I follow Mr.Lau(site supervisor) to

construction site after that he ask me familiar the site first

which is at Kim kee Lot 13453. After that Mr. lau told

me the site lot number, therefore, I just know that every

construction site have own Lot number.

2) After me look around the site, and familiar with the site,

Mr. Lau teach and explain the procedure and the method

for setting out the site before excavation. Thus, I know

that the setting out the position of foundation must be

without any mistake before excavation.

3) The method that use to setting out the position of

foundation and for excavation that I learned from Mr.

Lau is using the black oil and square shape of wood with

dimension (make by wood) , it is the conventional

method that cant get from the book that study at college.

4) I aslo help Mr. Lao pat the wood on the ground to tag the
 location that will be excavate.

5) Besides that, I also assist Mr. Lau to measure, checking

and confirm the location of setting out whether is similar

with the construction drawing or not.

6) Before I back home, Mr Lau brings me to view other site

and checking the work progress.

Tuesday 15/02/11 1) About 8.15am me and Mr.Lau reach construction site.

When we reach there, the worker during pump out the

water in the pit that for the footing before cast in the

ready mixed concrete. There totally got 60 pits that is

part of the site. They pump out the water inside the pit by

using a type of machinery.

2) After that, Mr.Lau ask me to do measurement for

indentify the quantity of concrete that have to use and

order from the supplier.

3) When the Mr.Lau order the ready mixed concrete, he

explain to me for the order rule in the market. Order the

ready mix concrete must with the range of 0.5m3. eg:

2.5m3, 3.5m3 and 4m3.

4) Because the ordered ready mixed concrete cant be

prefect utilize and will involve wastage, therefore must

do some calculation to control the concrete , it is to know

the ordered concrete whether is enough or not. If there is

not enough, thus must do calculation by using drawing to

 find out the additional ready mix concrete to be order.

For example, today Mr.Lau order the ready mix concrete

of 30m3, but in the end there is not enough for the few

left pit, therefore Mr.Lau teach me to calculate/control

the needed concrete by calculation. It is to calculate the

concrete for the pit which is haven cast in the concrete

and just order the quantity of concrete for which pit is

havent cast in. In the end I found that this method can

save the material cost and the budget of company.

Because when order more, the left`s ready mixed

concrete will become wastage.

5) When the ordered ready mix concrete come, it hoist by

the mobil crane (30tone) to the location for which pit

have be cast in the concrete to form the footing.

Wednesday 16/02/11 1) At the morning, Mr.Lau ask me go to site and arrange the

mobil crane for unloading the 280 pallet of common

brick from lorry to second floor of housing. 1 pallet have

around 525 pieces of brick.

2) At there, I see the worker lay the wire mesh in every

fourth brick, it is same with the building construction

book our study at college.

3) After that. Mr.Lau sent me to count the BRC and check

there is correct with the order quantity or not.

4) At there, me also learn how to insert and locate the water

 tank correct with safety. It must put below the wood

which have short spacing, because short spacing cab

receive the more load.

Thursday 17/02/11 1) In morning 8.00am, I follow my supervisor(Mr.Lau) go

to site to checking the work progress and to arrange all

the material for the worker to make sure the work is

progress smooth.

2) After that, me and Mr.Lau go to other site to confirm and

recheck the position of the pad which is setting out at last

few day. The position to be check because have to make

sure the position proper correct before excavation.

3) Mr.Lau give me a drawing which is ground floor plan

and require me to checked the position of the setting out

for excavation. After I check the position, I told Mr.Lau

that is all correct, but there is 1 position is incorrect after

Mr.Lau found out, he explain to me for the reason.

4) After going the bakri site, Mr Tiok( K&L construction

company director). He bring me and Mr. Lau go to

another site which is Bakri, Muar. At there me see the

worker lay the brick and construct roof structure. At

there, I learn that before lay the dpc, must lay a layer of a

kind of black oil to enhance the performance of prevent

moisture.

5) After going the bakri sitem Mr. Tiok bring me and

 Mr.Lau go meeting with client, which is the client have a

piece of land and have to construct housing.

6) After meeting, we have lunch with all NSC. Include bar

NSC , concrete NSC and electricity NSC.

7) After lunch, Mr.Lau bring me to other site which is

tangkak and ask me to count the cement whether the

quantity is match with the quantity ordered when the NS

deliver the material on site.

8) At the last, me assist Mr.Lau to pad the centre of pit for

the worker can view the position and easy to insert the

bakau pile in right position into ground. During pad the

centrel of pit, I learn the method of get the centre of pit.

Beside that, I also learn how to see the construction

drawing on site.
1) Mr.Lau ask me go to site at Jalan Junid , Cempeka to see

the worker cast in the ready mixed concrete into the

formwork which is for the roof beam and column.

2) The ready mixed concrete is hoist by the mobile crane

direct from the lorry to the form work.

Friday 18/02/11
3) After that, Mr.Lau requires me to fetch a worker to

another site to cutting down the coconut tree. At there I

learn how the tree can be cut down with safety.

4) Because today work is regarding the mobile crane, so I

understand the cost of rent the mobile crane.

 1) 8.00am me go to site which is at Kanpung Kerantan to

turn around and look at worker cast in the concrete into

formwork for construct the bridge of housing.

2) Before the lorry deliver the concrete on site, I use the

time of waiting to assist the worker dismantle the

formwork of housing bridge which is cast in the concrete

last few day ago.

3) At there me learned how to dismantle the formwork . the

first step of dismantle the formwork is to remove all the

stuck , then only can remove formwork at the site and

bottom.

4) When the ready mixed concrete lorry is reach, must

require the driver to carry out the slump test on site,

because it is importance to observe the quality of the

concrete and to ensure the quality of the concrete is reach

the requirement.
