A. Establishing the purpose of the lesson:

Today, we are going to use Venn Diagram that represents sets, subsets and set
operations (union, intersection, difference and complement)

Review:
What is Venn Diagram?
(consist of a rectangle that represents the universal set and a circle or circles inside the rectangle that represents
the sets. It is understood that the elements in the set are inside the circle that represents the sets .)

Motivation:

Now, I have here sample of Venn diagram. What you are going to do is to describe the
Venn diagram being presented.

Example

To add twist in this activity , lets put it into a game entitled “ Bahay”, “Tao”, “Bagyo”

( the teacher will read and say the mechanics and some reminders of the game)

Each five groups will be given a strip that uses Venn Diagram.
1. Draw and write the Venn diagram of the phases of matter where the first set is
liquid and second set is solid.

2. Draw and write the Venn diagram of the fruits where the first set is banana and the
second set is lemon.

3. Draw and write the Venn diagram of things where the first set is things made with
metal and the second set is things made with plastic.

4. Draw and write the Venn diagram of letters where the first set is curved lines and
second set is straight lines.
5. Draw and write the Venn diagram of the routines and procedures where the first
set is at school and the second set is at home.

Each group will present their output in front of the class. Each group will choose two
reporter to present their work.
