About Pratham
Pratham works in both urban and rural contexts across 21 states in India, reaching over 2.2 million
children through its educational programs. Read India is Pratham’s capstone rural program — a
grassroots effort for which we recruit volunteers from local communities to help struggling students
develop basic literacy and numeracy skills, and in many states, work directly alongside the government to
improve the quality of public education. Pratham has been widely recognized for its efforts and has

Program Support Team Associate
The Associate Position in Pratham’s Program Support Team offers young, motivated people the
opportunity to strengthen Pratham’s program implementation through a range of program support
activities. Associates will be assigned one or more states and will report to the regional head for those
states. The position provides associates the opportunity to learn in depth about how to create models for
large scale community and Government mobilization in order to achieve Pratham’s vision of “Every Child
in School and Learning Well”.
Regional Responsibilities:-
• Program Management - Facilitate effective implementation in assigned state(s) and provide feedback to
the regional head; Track quantitative program data; Assist in state program planning and creation of
budgets; analyze financial performance
• Donor Management - Develop grant proposals and reports for donors and Government; Explore local
fundraising options for the state
• Documentation - Create documentation on Pratham’s programmatic history and quarterly and annual
reports for the current programs in the state
National Responsibilities:-
• Informational and programmatic sharing across Pratham
• Participate in Quarterly Program Reviews with CEO, regional head, content team
• Keeping oneself updated on the broader educational context in assigned states and in India
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Required:
• Strong academic track record
• Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas of India, with limited amenities
• Ability to work with people from various different academic & socio-economic backgrounds
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Ability to communicate in Hindi and/or other Indian language(s)
• Must be self-motivated and proactive
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• 0 – 2 years of work experience
• Willingness to commit to 2 years of work with Pratham
Preferred:
• Coursework in education, international development, and management
• Experience living and working in a developing country
• Previous experience teaching or working in schools/education

2. Statement of Purpose (500 Words)
Placement: Fellow will be placed under the Regional Director for North India (placement in Delhi), North &
North-Eastern India (placement in state capital or in Delhi) or South & Central India (placement in state
capital or in Mumbai)
Remuneration: 20,000 – 25,000 INR per month, flexible depending on qualifications and experience
Number of Openings – 6 – 8
