fine-looking nails!
Consult client on desired nail service activity and specific requirements and consultation record is

Check and analyzed client's hand nail structure and condition.
There are different types of manicure applicable for men and women. As a manicurist, you can also
offer or suggest about the types of manicure to your client.
Types of Manicure
1. Long Manicure – is a standard manicure including hand, finger and arm massage.
2. Short Manicure – is a standard manicure that does not include hand, finger and arm massage.
3. Booth Manicure – manicure done under the same physical condition while the patron is receiving
other services
4. Oil or Lanolin Manicure – substitutes hot oil or lanolin in place of water for the soaking period.
5. Men’s Manicure – a man’s manicure with nails filed round and buffed, or completed with a clear
liquid polish.

B. Cleaning (Pedicure)
____1. Remove old polish from the nails of both feet
____2. Loosen cuticle by using the spoon end of the cuticle pusher while keeping it moist with
cuticle remover.
____3. Soften the cuticle with cuticle remover.
____4. Dry the feet and nails thoroughly.
____5. File toenails with a nail file or an emery board starting from the little finger, from corner to
center to avoid nail splitting and rounding them slightly at the corners to conform to the shape of the
toes
____6. Trim cuticle with cuticle nipper in a single segment.
____7. Cleanse nails by brushing the toenails using a down ward movement.
____8. Apply cuticle remover to the cuticle and under the free edge of each toenail with a cotton-
tipped orangewood stick.

Directions:
1. Prepare the necessary equipment, implements, cosmetics and materials to be used
in manicure and pedicure services.
2. Choose a partner in your house perform cleaning of fingernails and toenails by
following the given steps.
3. Let your client evaluate you by checking the appropriate boxes corresponding to the
degree of competency in procedure in cleaning nails.
4. Don’t forget to send your video/picture on my face book account while doing the
activity.
Rating Scale:
15 - The student consistently performs tasks to standards with no
supervision.
10 - The student can perform the tasks with limited supervision/ and or does not perform the task to
standard.
5 - The student can perform the tasks with direct supervision.
