A.Description;

This is a place or learning hub of every classroom away from their home of every Key Stage2
where full of variety reading material either manipulative printed or electronic geared to enrich
functional literacy and numeracy which catered an enjoyable worthwhile experience among
learners shared through peer -tutoring brought to zestfully strengthening advocacies campaign
on giving reading awareness and involvement of parents at home or peers at school, towards
literacy among Intermediates classes.

II; Background of the Study;

Meanwhile, some reading advocacies envisions as reading to the roots we are reiterated the
implementations of national mandates the 3 B’s (Bawa’t Bata ay Bumabasa ) initiatives as
anchored in the Memorandum No. 173, s.2019.
Perhaps, reading is an individual ability of understanding and finding the message of the text.
Reading is often considered as a difficult skills. The pupils cannot get the reading achievements
which is the most important aspect in reading comprehensions. Most importants aspect in
reading comprehensions. Reading is the process of constructing meaning. The purpose of
reading comprehensions is getting meaning from the text it include word reading, word
knowledge and fluency. In other words reading comphrehensions is a kind of interactions from
written text.
Another is to increase the vocabulary of a learner. In reading a text it must be understand and
comprehend to develop their competence through reading. A reading habit must be practice all
the time by the pupils even at home, a continuum support for Project SAGIP( Strenthening
Advocacy campaign on Giving awareness and Involvement of Parents/ Peers in the reading
performance of grade four to six pupils of Sta. Cruz Elementary School.
In relation to this, DepEd Order NO.25, S. 2022 describes as grade 1-11 learners who got a
grade ranging from 75-79 shall attend enrichment classes. The conduct of enrichment classes is
one of the strategies in the learning recovery plan of the department.
Reading plays a very crucial role in man’s life as reading influences one’s way of thinking, which
consequently affects one’s total development as a person. Although, man’s development is
influenced by many factors, learning is obtained through reading . Consequently, individual
must find ways he to develop and improve their reading comprehension skills.

Objectives;
1 Develop positive attitudes towards reading.
2. Promotes the importance of reading.
3. Make struggling learner readers into advance readers.

III; SIGNIFICANCE AND RELEVANCE OF THE PROJECTS
The program would be significant and relevant to the following;

Learner;
They will be ready to face with gladness and love in their heart towards reading
Parents;
It will be an assistance to them in preparing their children for reading and it will be a
way of making them aware.
Teacher;
It will be a help for them to give the activities and lessons to children on school days.

IV; Beneficiary of the Projects;

The participants of this program are the identified learner who are classified as struggling
learners in terms of their reading skills based from the previously Phil- Iri Oral reading
validations. S.Y. 2022-2023
