NEB‐2000C 

Coding Software 
1.IrDA and Cable 

IrDA Board 

USB To PC 

 
 
 

 
Put IrDA board on the top of the beacon as the picture shown.Then connect the USB port to PC. 
Note:The IrDA module on the IrDA board and the beacon must be face to face. 
 
2.USB Serial Port Driver 
 

 
When  USB  port  connect  to  PC.New  hardware  will  be  found.Choose”No,not  this  time”,and  then 
click “next”. 

 
Choose “Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)”,and then click “next”. 
 
Choose  the  USB‐Serial  driver’s  folder.Select  “Include  this  location  in  the  search”  and  then 
“Browse”.Select the folder of the driver “ft232usbdriver2.0”.Then click “OK”. 
 
Click “Next”. 

 
Click “Finish” to close the wizard. 
 
USB Serial Port(COM4) (maybe COM3,COM5,COM6....)can be found in device manager. 
 
3.Software 

 
Run the NSR EPIRB coding software. 
Choose the USB Serial Port‐COM5. 
3.1 Read Data 
 
 

 
Click “READ”. 
 
 
 
Then press the “TEST” button with a tool for 5 seconds. 
 
 

 
A window show “Reading code successful”. Coding data are shown on the software.   
“Message Content Hex” and “Beacon 15 Hex ID” are from the beacon. 
“Model No” and “S/W Version” are shown. 
“Product NO.” is in “Operation Status”. 
 
 
 
If  “SAVE”  is  clicked.  The  coding  information  will  be  saved  in  the  folder  “Report”.  The  report 
format are .bmp and .txt. 
 

 
3.1 Write Data 

 
The default protocol is “STANDARD‐LOCATION(MMSI)”. 
 
If other protocol are required, tick “Advanced User”. Then choose protocol from the list. 
 
 
 

 
Fill the MID and other information. 
Click “WRITE”. 
 
Then press the “TEST” button with a tool for 5 seconds. 
 
 

 
Wait for 2 seconds. A window show “Writing code successful”.
