Assignment 1

This document is an assignment for a biostatistics course that provides data from a study on oral health and dental care among individuals on renal dialysis. It includes a table of plaque index scores from 0 to 3 for 90 subjects. Students are asked to analyze the data through various statistical distributions and graphs, and calculate percentages and proportions based on the scores. Key tasks include creating a frequency distribution, relative frequency distribution, cumulative frequency distribution, histogram, and frequency polygon, and calculating what percentage or proportion of scores fall within given ranges.

Question 1: In a study of the oral home care practice and reasons for seeking dental care among
individuals on renal dialysis, Atassi (A-1) studied 90 subjects on renal dialysis. The oral hygiene
status of all subjects was examined using a plaque index with a range of 0 to 3 (0 = no soft plaque
deposits, 3= an abundance of soft plaque deposits). The following table shows the plaque index
scores for all 90 subjects.
