Q1) Explain the styles given in the styles and formatting
window for writer and paste screenshot also.
Ans ) Styles are logistical attributes .
 Styles help shift emphasis from what text looks like to
what text is.
 Styles help improve consistency in a document. They
also make major formatting changes easy .
 OOo writer has 5 style categories
1. Paragraph style – affect entire paragraph
represented with those styles.
2. Character styles – affect a block of text inside a
paragraph.
3. Page styles – affect page formatting.
4. Frame styles – affect frame and graph.
5. List styles – affect outlines , numbered list and bullet
list
6. To open styles and formatting press F11 or Format >
styles and formatting

Q2) write the steps to create new styles in open office

Ans) Creating a new style –
1. Open styles and formatting dialog and choose the
type of style you want to create.
2. In the document , select the item you want to save as
aa style.
3. In the styles and formatting window clck on new style
from selection icon.
4. In create style dialog , type a name for the new style.
The list shows the names of existing custom styles of
selected type. Click ok to save the new style.

Ans) steps to consolidate data in open office calc are:


1. Write the 1st table with all the data in it on one sheet
and label sheet name as case 1 or whatever you choose.
2. On another sheet write all data in 2nd table and label
sheet name as case 2 or any others you prefer.
3. Open a 3rd sheet where you choose consolidate option
and choose sum field in it .
4. Then go to your first sheet and select all you rows and
columns you had the data on and add it .
5. Do similar with the second worksheet
6. On the third sheet select rows and columns and put
your data there.
Q5) write steps to create scenario in Open Office Calc along
with screenshot of the window.
Ans) steps to create a new scenario are –
i. Select the cells that contain the values that will change
between scenarios. To select multiple ranges, hold ctrl
key as you click. You must select at least 2 cells.
ii. Choose tools>scenarios
iii. On the create scenario dialog, enter a name for a new
scenario. This name is displayed in the navigator and on
the title bar of scenario sheet itself.
iv. Optionally add some information in comment box. This
information is displayed in navigator when you click the
scenarios icon and select the desired scenario.
v. Optionally select or deselect the options in settings
section.
vi. Click ok to close the dialog. The new scenario is
automatically activated
Q6) write steps to record Macro in open office calc.
Ans) The following steps create macro in open office –
1) Open a new spreadsheet.
2) Enter numbers into sheet.
3) Select cell A3, which contains the number 3, copy value
to the clipboard.
4) Select cell A3:C3
5) Use tools >macros >record macro to start macro
recorder the record macro dialog is displayed with a
stop recording button.
.
6) Use edit>paste special to open paste special dialog.
7) Set the operation to multiply and click ok. The cells are
now multiplied by 3.
8) Click stop recording to stop macro recorder. The
openoffice.org basic macro dialog opens.
9) Select the current document. You can create a new
library to contain macro, but this is not necessary.
10) Click new module. If no libraries exist, the
standard library is automatically created and used. In
the module dialog, type the name for new module or
leave the name as module 1.
11) Click ok to create module named module 1. Select
the newly created module 1, enter the macro name and
paste multiply and click save.
12) The created macro is saved in module1 of the
standard library in the untitled 1 document. Listing one
shows the contents of the macro.

Q7) Write steps to create table with minimum five fields
on the entity “students “ in design view.
Ans) Click file>new, and then select blank desktop
database.
 In the file box, type a file name for the new database.
 To browse to a different location and save the database ,
click the folder option.
 Click create
 The new database opens, and a new table named table1
is created and opens in datasheet view.

Ans) some steps to create strong passwords are –
1. Never share your password
2. Have a long password
3. A password should contain a mixture of character types
4. Do not use common passwords like “password” or
“12345”
5. Base your password on a sentence or a song lyric
6. Use auto generated passwords
7. Avoid using a password repeatedly
8. Utilize multi-factor authentication
9. Use a password on your phone and other devices as well
10. Use password managers
