Reflection in Each Modalities

Before pandemic, we are used to the traditional method of teaching or the

traditional face-to-face learning. We thought it is the only method of delivering
modalities. Since the pandemic started, I have been introduced and experienced the
other two modalities. It was a bit hard to adjust for the first three months, but when you
get used to it, it becomes easy especially online class. The big adjustment for distance
learning is you don’t get see your classmates faces and it will become isolated for you.
Now, I’m going to explore the different delivery of modalities and my experiences with it.

During face-to-face learning, I really enjoyed having to socialize with my

classmates and create bonds with them in real life. The way we act and converse is just
different than hanging out virtually. I made a lot of close friends in my school and also,
when you get to participate in the discussion like sharing your thoughts and ideas, it hits
different if you see your classmates’ faces when you oral. It really does boost your
confidence and also helps with your public speaking skills while having your classmates
to practice on. During face-to-face sessions, you really get to interact physically with
your classmates and teachers and becomes more immersive when it comes to learning.
While in blended learning, I have experienced it as well, during my last semester of
grade 12. It is really flexible when it comes to schedule and really does wonders to a
student. We have learned thru modules and still have some certain activities in the
classroom, like oral defense or performance tasks in pe while observing the proper
health protocols because it was still pandemic. In the other hand, distance learning has
been a big part of my education amidst the covid 19 pandemic. In my first semester, we
still don’t get to choose what type of modality we were going to have so, I have no
choice but to indulge in online classes. At first, it was really a big adjustment for me, this
is my first time that I indulge in an online lecture at home. Nevertheless, I was still
grateful for my teachers that they didn’t really let us feel pressured, because we were all
riding the same boat during that time as well. They really helped us adjust in the
situation and after a few months, I got used to it. Having that online class, was also a
disappointment from my part, because it was the last year, I get to spend with my high
school classmates and friends. They also feel the same way whenever we hangout and
tell each other about what the feel during that time. In conjunction to that, it really helped
me adjust fully and have me be ready for my first-year college. It really was a surreal
experience for me that turned to one of the best experiences that I had. It was all a roller
coaster trying to experience different kind of modalities in 2 school years.

Therefore, I conclude that, whatever modality that we get to be in, it’s still in the
students’ perseverance and determination that what gets us to yearn for knowledge.
Also, motivation plays a big part in distance learning as you get to do things to yourself,
unlike in the traditional method like face-to-face, you have your classmates to talk to
and motivate each other to strive hard. As long as we have the passion and
determination for success, no matter how bumpy the road becomes, we should never
lose the drive to pursue our dreams.
