LESSON 3: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BIAS AND PREJUDICE
ENABLING OBJECTIVES:
Differentiate biases from prejudices.
Recognize biases and prejudices in real life situations.
SELF-CHECK: Observe and analyze the pictures below, then, answer the questions that follow.
PREJUDICE means to prejudge something. If people are prejudiced against something, it means
that they have an unreasonable dislike of it without having found out about it or thought about
it properly.
BIAS, on the other hand, is based on judgment on a personal point of view. Bias is to have a
preference or an inclination for something that affects your ability to see it clearly or to make an
impartial judgment about it.
