What inverter can work with LUNA battery?


SUN2000-3/4/5/6/8/10KTL-M1 inverters and SUN2000-2/3/3.68/4/4.6/5/6KTL-L1 inverters are all
compatible with Huawei LUNA2000 Smart String Energy Storage System.

Some of SUN2000-3/4/5/6/8/10KTL-M0 works with LUNA2000 Smart String Energy Storage System*.

Is my SUN2000-5-6KTL-M0 compatible with LUNA battery?


SN between HV191XXXXXX ~ HV199XXXXXX are NOT compatible with LUNA2000 Smart String ESS

As for customers who have purchased and installed the SUN2000-3/4/5/6/8/10KTL -M0 with the serial
number between HV191XXXXXX~HV199XXXXXX, and want to add a LUNA2000 Smart String Energy
Storage System, Huawei will provide SUN2000-3/4/5/6/8/10KTL-M1 for free to replace the
aforementioned certain SUN20003/4/5/6/8/10KTL-M0 during valid product warranty periods (excl.
extended warranty period). For detailed terms and conditions, please contact the local service team.

The rest M0 are compatible with LUNA2000 Smart String ESS only after inverter firmware is updated to
SPC135 or later version.

Is meter required for LUNA battery installation?


Yes meter is essential.

Which comms cable to choose for module connection, 4 PIN or 8 PIN?


5mm (4pin) comms cable is used for power module-battery module connection or battery module-
battery module connection.

7mm (8pin) comms cable is for LUNA battery cascading

What is the Maximum DC Voltage and Short Circuit Current of LUNA?


Maximum DC voltage when connecting to SUN2000-2-6KTL-L1 single phase inverter: 600Vdc
Maximum DC voltage when connecting to SUN2000-5-6KTL-M1 three phase inverter: 1100Vdc
Short circuit current: 32A

Why backup functionality doesn’t take effect (battery does not start discharging to supply
essential loads) when main switch is cut off?
Ensure off-grid mode is enabled on APP FusionSolar > Settings > Feature Parameters

Battery module cannot be detected by power module


Remove all other battery modules and keep that single battery module which cannot be detected
connected to power module. Press and hold start button on power module for 15s and check if BAT+/-
terminal has any voltages,

If no, replace that battery module.

If yes, replace comms cable. What Huawei provides along with battery module for internal connection is
4 PIN comms cable, but standard 8 PIN internet cable can be used as a replacement.
