SUBJECT: MATHEMATICS
1. With the help of the internet, record the temperature of major cities as Port-Harcourt, Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Enugu,
Ibadan, kaduna, Calabar, Jos and Owerri. of 1st week of August, 2023.
(a) Find the average temperature of each city
(b) Find the difference in temperature of: (i) Port-Harcourt and Kano (ii) Ibadan and Jos (iii) Owerri and Kaduna.
2. Imagine yourself as a team leader for your team. School rewards for discipline, regularity, punctuality and for being
honest.
(a) What is the amount you will reward for each category?
(b) What fraction of your total amount is rewarded for each category? Write your priority in descending order.
SUBJECT: MATHEMATICS
1. Search in Google and find the names of polygons having 11 sides, 12 sides------up to 20 sides. Put this information in
form of a Bar chart.
2. Solve any 5 activity. (Read activity instruction carefully and use A4 size paper or graph paper to solve it).
List of activity:-
(i). To verify the algebraic identity: (a+ b+ c)2 = a2 + b2 + c2 + 2ab + 2bc + 2ca
(ii) To verify experimentally the different criteria for congruency of triangles using triangle cutouts.
(iii) To verify that the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180º.
(iv) To verify experimentally that in a triangle, the longer side has the greater angle opposite to it.
(v) To form a cube and find the formula for its surface area experimentally.
(vi) To find a formula for the curved surface area of a right circular cylinder, experimentally.
(vii) To find experimental probability of unit’s digits of telephone numbers listed on a page selected at random of a
telephone directory.
SUBJECT: MATHEMATICS
1. Make a chart of the formulas for the topics below;
(i) Trigonometry, (ii) Mensuration, (iii) Statistics and, (iv) Arithmetic progression.
Use a chart paper. Do all the formula on the same chart paper
2. Make at least ten (10) different figures or images using polygons.
SUBJECT: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
1. What is the physical state of water at (a) 250°C, (b) 100°C, (c) 0°C?
2. (a) Give reasons:
(i) A sponge can be pressed easily; still it is called a solid.
(ii) Water vapours have more energy than water at same temperature.
(b) What are intermolecular forces? How are these related to the three states of matter?
(c) Is it possible to liquify atmospheric gases? If yes, suggest a method.
3. Describe;
(i) the flow of blood through the heart of human beings.
(ii) the process of urine formation in kidneys
4. Create a mark sheet format of your five friends by drawing MS-EXCEL Worksheet and use the following functions: –
Sum, Average, Maximum and Minimum.
5. Draw a Political map of Nigeria and show the distribution of minerals.
6. Write about the Rapture as a Christian.
SUBJECT: MATHEMATICS
1. Project work: - To draw the graph of a quadratic polynomial and observe:
(a) The shape of the curve when the coefficient of x2 is positive.
(b) The shape of the curve when the coefficient of x2 is negative.
(c) The shape of the curve when the equation is not consistent.
(d) The shape of the curve when the equation has equal roots.
(e) The shape of the curve when the equation has unequal roots.
Material required:
Graph Paper, Ruler, Pencil, Eraser, Pen, Adhesive.
Hints:
Take different type of quadratic equation as; (a) if coefficient of x2 is positive, then we can take an equation as 2x2 + 3x - 5 = y,
now put the different values of x and get the value of y and draw the graph.
