Activity: Title: Methods of testing seeds


Instructions:
 Select 1 method of testing seeds, either Dish method, Rag doll method or Seed box method.
 Then perform the methods of testing seeds you select.
 Take pictures or videos before, during and after you finished the activity.
 You can send through, Messenger, Email in our group chat
 Deadline will be during the distribution and retrieval of modules.

Performance Task 3

SOIL PREPARATION AND PLANTING

Soil is the top layer of the earth’s surface suitable for the growth of plant life. Soil preparation is necessary to
ensure productivity. The soil mu be tilled well for good seed germination and seedling. Land that is properly can hold
water that insure good yield. Weeds are also eliminated.

Do you know how land is prepared for lasting growth and vigor plants?

1. Clean the area or site by pulling out weeds, grasses and other rubbish.
2. Plow the land. This is the most important tillage operation in preparing the land. The main purpose of plowing
is to pulverize the soil, aerate it and make it soil retentive.
3. Harrowing is the next step. The purpose of harrowing plowed soil is the level it, make it fine, compact it and
destroy weeds. The harrowing tool is a native spike toothed wooden harrow.
4. Raise beds to provide drainage during rainy season. Pechay, cabbage, radish, tomatoes, eggplants, are the
best planted on raised beds

Activity: Title: Garden management


Instructions:
 In your backyard prepare a small area where you can perform the different procedure in preparing
the soil and garden.
 Then take pictures or videos before, during and after you finished the activity.
 You can send through, Messenger, Email in our group chat
