How much of this submission has been generated by AI?

0%

about a student's work. We encourage you to learn more about Turnitin's AI detection
capabilities before using the tool.
of qualifying text in this submission has been determined to be
generated by AI.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the percentage mean?

The percentage shown in the AI writing detection indicator and in the AI writing report is the amount of qualifying text within the
submission that Turnitin's AI writing detection model determines was generated by AI.

Our testing has found that there is a higher incidence of false positives when the percentage is less than 20. In order to reduce the
likelihood of misinterpretation, the AI indicator will display an asterisk for percentages less than 20 to call attention to the fact that
the score is less reliable.

However, the final decision on whether any misconduct has occurred rests with the reviewer/instructor. They should use the
percentage as a means to start a formative conversation with their student and/or use it to examine the submitted assignment in
greater detail according to their school's policies.

How does Turnitin's indicator address false positives?

Our model only processes qualifying text in the form of long-form writing. Long-form writing means individual sentences contained in paragraphs that make up a
longer piece of written work, such as an essay, a dissertation, or an article, etc. Qualifying text that has been determined to be AI-generated will be highlighted blue
on the submission text.

Non-qualifying text, such as bullet points, annotated bibliographies, etc., will not be processed and can create disparity between the submission highlights and the
percentage shown.

What does 'qualifying text' mean?

Sometimes false positives (incorrectly flagging human-written text as AI-generated), can include lists without a lot of structural variation, text that literally repeats
itself, or text that has been paraphrased without developing new ideas. If our indicator shows a higher amount of AI writing in such text, we advise you to take that
into consideration when looking at the percentage indicated.

In a longer document with a mix of authentic writing and AI generated text, it can be difficult to exactly determine where the AI writing begins and original writing
ends, but our model should give you a reliable guide to start conversations with the submitting student.

Disclaimer
Our AI writing assessment is designed to help educators identify text that might be prepared by a generative AI tool. Our AI writing assessment may not always be accurate (it may misidentify
both human and AI-generated text) so it should not be used as the sole basis for adverse actions against a student. It takes further scrutiny and human judgment in conjunction with an
organization's application of its specific academic policies to determine whether any academic misconduct has occurred.

Look Back

The teamwork and collaborative concentration of the five nurses throughout the hospital

scenario was one significant event. All the nurses were vital in keeping an eye on various parts of

the patient's condition, even in spite of the urgency of the issue and the client's declining health.

Another nurse reminded us of the value of communication when she monitored our vital signs on

the screen while I took our blood pressure. The fifth nurse kept an eye on the client's oxygen

levels as the fourth nurse gave oral medicine. This event brought to light the multidisciplinary

nature of healthcare and the value of collaboration in delivering all-encompassing patient care.

Elaborate

Kimberly Dunning, a patient with comorbid anxiety and an asthma exacerbation, was

being cared for by a multidisciplinary team at Sheridan College Hospital. Important details such

as the patient's name, Daming, Ka Kimberly, date of birth, and medical record number (MRN)

were recorded in the Medication Administration Record (MAR). The detailed description of the

diagnosis, allergies (particularly to sulfa), and regular prescriptions clarified the intricate nature

of the patient's condition. The seriousness of the problem was emphasized by the existence of

explicit instructions and the code level of "Full Code". As a nurse, I saw and took part in the

process of administering medicine. Each nurse had a specific responsibility, such as transcribing

orders, confirming them, and continuously checking the patient's oxygen saturation levels.

The hospital setting during this therapeutic action was probably marked by a concentrated

team environment and a feeling of urgency. While direct observations or interactions during this

situation are not covered in detail in the material provided, one can envision the methodical

monitoring and recording of vital signs, the hum of medical equipment, and the information

sharing between the members of the healthcare team. The team may have felt a variety of

emotions, from professional concern for the patient's welfare to the need of accuracy and

teamwork in carrying out medical procedures. The seriousness of caring for a patient

experiencing an asthma attack that is exacerbated by anxiety and allergens would probably make

the healthcare professionals involved feel more accountable and detail oriented.

Analyze

The strong teamwork and responsibility sharing among the medical staff are clearly

supported. The Medication Administration Record (MAR) that is recorded offers a methodical

summary of the patient's medical history, allergies, and recommended medicines. This highlights

the significance of precise and well-coordinated treatment (Wondmieneh et al., 2020, p. 3). It is

in line with established standards in healthcare environments for there to be distinct duties, such

as one nurse checking the patient's pulse physically and another monitoring vital indicators on

the screen. The painstaking recordkeeping necessary for patient safety is seen in the MAR's

inclusion of the patient's addressograph, personal information, and allergies.

The data does, however, also suggest that there may have been a lapse in the treatment

given to the patient as their illness worsened. The evidence supplied does not suggest that the

medical staff thought about doing CPR when the patient's vital signs sharply declined, even with

careful drug delivery and monitoring (Jones & Treiber, 2018, p. 3). This is a crucial omission

since CPR is a commonly used life-saving technique for cardiac arrest cases. The lack of a

recorded reaction to the deteriorating vital signs calls into question the efficiency of the team's

crisis management and forces a more thorough review of the procedures set up for emergency

scenarios.

Revise

In response to the analysis, if faced with a similar scenario, I would prioritize a more

proactive approach to the declining vital signs and consider the timely initiation of CPR.

Recognizing the potential gap in the response, it is crucial to adhere to established protocols and

guidelines for managing critical situations, such as sudden cardiac arrest. Literature in healthcare

emphasizes the importance of regular training and simulation exercises to enhance team

coordination and decision-making during emergencies. Implementing strategies like the use of

rapid response teams, clear communication protocols, and a structured approach to crisis

management could have improved the team's readiness to address the drastic decline in the

patient's vital signs, potentially preventing the unfortunate outcome.

New Application

Its findings and experience have emphasized how important it is to act quickly and

strategically when it comes to crucial healthcare issues. To improve my capacity to react

appropriately in emergency circumstances, I will going ahead place a high priority on ongoing

training, which will include scenario-based exercises and simulations. Understanding that there

may be a lapse in doing CPR when there is a significant drop in vital signs, I will push for

frequent team training sessions that stress the need of open communication and following

established procedures. I'll also look for ways to keep current on the newest evidence-based

crisis management techniques and apply this understanding to my therapeutic work. My

dedication to a culture of ongoing learning and development will serve as a compass,

guaranteeing that I will be more qualified to provide the best treatment and support favorable

patient outcomes in subsequent clinical contexts.
