Controlling an electric bulb using Blynk 2.0/Blynk IoT is a project that allows you to manage
your light bulb from anywhere using your smartphone or computer. To achieve this, you
connect your light bulb to the Blynk platform, which acts as the bridge between your device
and the bulb. Next, you create a user-friendly mobile app that communicates with the Blynk
platform, enabling you to turn the bulb on and off at your convenience. Additionally, you can
schedule when the bulb should be on or off, adding automation to your lighting. This project
serves as a practical example of how the Internet of Things (IoT) technology can be applied
to enhance everyday life by providing remote control and automation for household devices.
5.0 Output:
A. Introduction
In today's ever-changing world of technology, we often see smart gadgets
becoming a part of our daily lives. It's no longer like something you'd only see
in sci-fi movies – the ability to control things around us from far away is very
real. A great example of this is a project that lets you control a regular light
bulb using a system called Blynk 2.0/Blynk IoT. This cool project allows
people to use the Internet of Things (IoT) to easily turn a common household
item, like a light bulb, on or off from a distance. It's all about making your life
more convenient..
B. History
In the past, we didn't have as many smart devices in our daily lives as we do
now. Back then, the idea of controlling things from a distance might have
seemed like science fiction. But, as technology has evolved over time, it's
become a reality.Let's talk about the history of controlling a regular light bulb
using a system called Blynk 2.0/Blynk IoT. This project is part of the Internet
of Things (IoT), which has been developing for a while. It's all about using the
power of the internet to make your life simpler and more connected..
Hardware Requirements :
NodeMCU Esp8266
NodeMCU Esp8266
USB Cable
USB Cable
USB ( Universal Serial Bus ) Cable is used to connect the development boards ( NodeMCU
in this case ) to the system ( For eg: Laptops ).
Jumper Wires
USB Cable
Jumper wires are the connecting wires that have connector pins at each end, allowing them to
be used to connect the two points without soldering. They typically come in three versions -
male-to-male, male-to-female, and female-to-female. Here, we will be using male-to-male
jumper wires to interface the hardware components.
Relay
Relay
It is designed to interface with development boards such as NodeMCU to control high voltage
and high current load. It is rated up to 10 A per channel at 30 VDC or 250VAC.
Bulb
Bulb
A bulb contains a filament enclosed inside glass to protect the filament from oxidation. Current
is supplied to the filaments via terminal.
Power Adaptor
Power Adaptor
Arduino IDE
Arduino IDE
Blynk App
Blynk App
Blynk is an IoT platform that allows you to quickly build user interfaces for controlling and
monitoring your hardware projects from your android phones. You can download this app
from Google Play Store.
Circuit Connections :
Circuit Connections
The positive terminal and negative terminal of the 5V power supply are
connected to the positive and negative of the breadboard respectively.
The positive terminal and negative terminal of the Relay Module are
connected to the positive and negative of the breadboard respectively.
IN pin of the relay is connected to the D0 pin on the nodeMCU.
The positive terminal of the bulb is connected to pin D0 of the nodeMCU.
project shows how you can use your phone to turn a light on and off from anywhere. It's like
having a remote control for your light bulb. This technology is making our homes smarter
and our lives more convenient.
