Installing Pashto Keyboard Support

After you’ve installed this program you need to set the language to Pashto in order to make your
computer able to type in Pashto. You will need to switch between English/Pashto. English
keyboard is enabled by default so to enable Pashto you follow the following steps.

Installing Pashto Keyboard Support on Windows 2000

1. Open Control Panel


2. Double click on Regional Options.
3. On the General tab, check if the “ARABIC” language is selected from the Language settings
for the system list, if not then mark the checkbox next to “Arabic” and click on apply, the
system will ask you to insert windows 2000 CD in the CD drive.
4. Next click on the Input Locales tab from the Regional Options popup window.
5. Click on the Change button.
6. Text Services window will be opened
7. Click on Add.
8. Add Input Language window will appear; there you have to select the Pashto keyboard.
9. To enable Pashto keyboard select Arabic (Saudi Arabia) or any other of Arabic’s various
input languages.
10. Select Pashto from the Keyboard Layout/IME.
11. Click on OK and again to save all the settings and close all the windows.
12. Now you’ve enabled your Pashto keyboard, to switch between English and Pashto you will
have to press Left ALT + Shift keys.

4. Click on Add.
5. Add Input Language window will appear; there you have to select the Pashto keyboard.
6. To enable Pashto keyboard select Arabic (Saudi Arabia) or any other of Arabic’s various
input languages.
7. Select Pashto from the Keyboard Layout/IME.
8. Click on OK and again to save all the settings and close all the windows.
9. Now you’ve enabled your Pashto keyboard, to switch between English and Pashto you
will have to press Left ALT + Shift keys.

This setup program has 8 fonts which are automatically installed. The fonts that come with this
program are:
1. Pashto Aryob
2. Pashto Breshna
3. Pashto Ghani
4. Pashto Gharghakht
5. Pashto Gorbat
6. Pashto Nazo
7. Pashto Reshtin
8. Pashto Zazi
