Activating Dynamic Light Assist On 21
Activating Dynamic Light Assist On 21
• You will need OBDEleven Pro in order to activate DLA. The pro version allows for long coding
which you will need for at least one step.
• Pop hood. Hood doesn’t need to be fully opened, just popped open. This is a new requirement
for 21+ Arteons.
o On your infotainment screen select “Car” then select “Settings” then “Lights”.
“Dynamic Light Assist” should now appear in the menu. Make sure it is selected
if it is not already.
Shut off ignition, close hood, start car and drive around. In order to activate DLA, you’ll need to push
the turn signal stalk forward once. On your dash where the high beam indicator is you should now see a
white A with an arrow around it. This indicates DLA is active and ready to turn on as conditions warrant.
Conditions for DLA to turn on: Headlight switch is set to auto, you’re driving over 37 mph, and only
when it’s completely dark out. Even street lights will cause DLA to shut off. When DLA is actually on and
in use the indicator will change to blue and your headlights will start dancing around other cars.
Push it again to manually force your fixed high beams on or pull towards you to flash someone. I highly
recommend running the high beam assist memory app so that DLA is always activated. Otherwise you’ll
have to manually activate DLA each time you start your car. You’ll also need to manually activate DLA
any time you turn your headlight switch from the Auto position. The high beam assist memory app only
works if you keep your headlight switch in the Auto position at all times.
