LEARNING OUTLINE
LESSON
1. Play Snowman (variation of Hangman) with the pupils. Use the word holiday.
PRE-
f. Repeat. Have some pupils come out to take the role of the teacher.
g. Ask questions about the flashcards on the board to introduce and model the questions and answers: Are/Is
there any…? Yes there is/are /No, there isn’t/aren’t.
4. Activity 2:
a. Grammar box: Read it out loud and have pupils repeat. (SB pg 57)
b. Explain the usage of ‘any’ in questions and negative sentences.
c. Write a few more examples on the board and have pupils repeat.
5. Activity 3:
a. Distribute worksheet. Play the CD, pausing after each exchange. (track 88)
b. Pupils listen and tick the correct box according to whether the ingredients depicted are in the food
mentioned or not.
c. Have pupils do this activity individually and then check with their partner.
POST-LESSON
6. Show a picture of a pizza. Give pupils 1 minute to look at the picture carefully.
7. Put the picture away. Ask questions: Is there any cheese on the pizza? Are there any peppers on the pizza? Is there
any pineapple on the pizza? Etc
8. Encourage pupils to answer the questions using suitable responses. (refer to grammar box)
