“I take care of what's mine, and you've been mine since the moment I saw you”

“I don’t need a happily ever after. I need to be by your side. I need you happy and healthy
and safe. Goddammit Bridget, I need you. In any way I can have you.”
This is the second book in the inter-connected standalone romance series, the second
installment in Ana Huang’s Twisted series. It is a dual point of view between Bridget and
Rhys. It follows the story of Bridget, a princess of Eldora who falls in love with her
bodyguard. The book tells the tale of a forbidden and concealed romance between a
future queen and her highly protective bodyguard. Twisted Games is addictive and
swoon-worthy romance of Bridget and Rhys. This is more or less the same as the first
book but with forbidden romance and royalty falling for normal person trope.
Writing is gripping, emotive, and entertaining. I loved the idea of the time jump here that
is divided in two parts. The first part of the book in the same time frame as the first book
while the second part extends the timeline. As it covers 4 years of timeline the first half is
a little slow but it builds the story so well.

Bridget von Ascheberg is a princess who dreams of the freedom to live and love as she
chooses, and she has recently hired a new bodyguard Rhys. Rhys and Bridget's slow-
burn romance is immersive with the bodyguard trope. At first, they don't get along,
butting heads and keeping their feelings hidden while maintaining a professional
relationship.
From the moment Bridget and Rhys meet there is a lot of chemistry, an undeniable
connection between these two. But since they really don’t like each other, they both deny
it and don’t act on it. But some things you just can’t deny. And when Bridget’s life is
turned upside down, Rhys is the one who is by her side through everything. But being a
princess isn’t a fairytale, and Bridget’s life isn’t her own. But when Bridget’s brother
abdicates, she’s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient
marriage and a throne she never wanted. And as she navigates the intricacies—and
treacheries—of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can’t have. Her
bodyguard. Her protector. Her ultimate ruin.
Bridget is Princess of Eldorra, second in line who was never supposed to be a queen but
when his brother abdicates for love, she has to take his place as Queen of Eldorra. There
is lots of pressure with the title and her feelings for Rhys make it even more complicated.
I couldn’t say what she will choose, Rhys or throne, and if she is choosing both then
how.

The story between Bridget and Rhys starts with a slow burn which has sexual tension
from the beginning but as the story progresses things start to get hot. Rhys’s bossy
behavior at the start caused a lot of snapping and tension between the two. It was fun to
read.
Bridget is very impressive in the book she’s going to become a Queen which is a big
challenge for her. She has to learn all the things a Queen must know in a short time span
and she is also fighting for her love at the same time. She is definitely one of the strong
Female Characters.
Bridget is smart, lovely, compassionate, regal, and down to earth. I loved her in first book
for how she was with her friends and her love for animals. She loved her freedom and
normal life in U.S. and after her brother’s abdication I could see how she felt trapped and
scared. It pained to see her vulnerable side. I agree with what her cousin said, “The
throne is most powerful seat but also the smallest cage in the palace” and it was proved
many times throughout the book. But she is also survivor, determined, stubborn and a
risk taker. I could see why she, not Nikolai, could figure out how to repeal the Royal
Marriage Law.
Rhys is hot, grumpy, overbearing, protective and possessive. I loved how much
supportive he was. Bridget’s title and her higher position never bothered him. He won my
heart when he helped Bridget with her bucket list. His back story brought tears to my
eyes. It hurt to read how his childhood and later his time in the military caused him
complex PTSD. I felt happy for him when he not only got Bridget but also found family.

There is insta-lust but the romance is slow burn. There are many beautiful and lovely
moments. I absolutely loved when Rhys put up tent and created an indoor festival for
Bridget and their time in Costa Rica was amazing. I loved how it shifted their feelings and
relationship. Their love, pining, passion, and chemistry is fabulous.

Two words are really all that’s needed….RHYS LARSEN. Rhys and Bridget are the types
of characters you really root for. I loved seeing Rhys rough exterior melt away for
Bridget. The little vacation that Rhys planned for Bridget - I was screaming internally!
And Bridget is the badass QUEEN we all dream of being.
Bridget’s character was definitely a fun one. She is very kind, smart and at times really
funny. She is a princess, but she isn’t someone who takes advantage of that fact. All
Bridget’s wants is to do normal stuff and spend times with her friends. But being royalty
makes ‘being normal’ hard. I simple loved reading the chapters from her point of view.

But my absolute favorite character was Rhys. Handsome, strong, bossy and kind of
rude.. What’s not to like about him? He is the best bodyguard out there. Why? Well, he
doesn’t do feelings and he definitely doesn’t talk about his personal life. But from the
moment Rhys and Bridget meet, she is under his skin. And the chapters we read from his
point of view where my absolute favorite. The chemistry between these two was flying of
the pages and I really couldn’t get enough of them.
Climax is predictable and inevitable. I was anticipating it as they both were pretty much
reckless. I was just surprised their tryst could go so far. What I loved most was who
Rhys’ father turned out and what he discovered about him and also the mystery behind
who leaked their pics. I absolutely loved Bridget and Rhys for confronting the
Speaker. End is lovely, uplifting, and refreshing.
The plot was super interesting and captivating from beginning to end, and I liked how
Bridget and Rhys fought to get what they wanted. Both characters were well written!
While Rhys was broody and very protective and possessive of Bridget, she was sweet
but fierce and determined. Their chemistry and sexual tension were intense, and I loved
their moments together so much. The way he always called her “princess” made me
swoon so bad!! It was impossible not to see how strong their feelings were and how
much they cared about each other. Rhys and Bridget’s relationship was well-developed
throughout the story, and it was great to get the full picture even though he was already
her bodyguard in Twisted Love.
Plot is amazing in this book, and there also is suspense and mystery that I couldn’t
guess until it was revealed. Characters are of course as amazing as plot and in this book
too I absolutely loved their back story. There are many side characters both old and new.
I liked Andreas and Christian. I can’t wait to read Stella and Christian’s story now. It was
lovely to get to know both Bridget and Rhys.
‘Twisted Games’ was another great read I couldn’t put down. I loved this one even more
than the first book, and I definitely can’t wait to read the next book. The best part about
this series is that they are definitely standalones. But having read the first book too made
this book even better.
Overall, I enjoyed Twisted Games for what it is. It promised a great time and delivered it
perfectly. I liked it more than Twisted Love, the first book in the Twisted series. Rhys is a
better male lead than Alex. I hated Alex in the first book. The sexual tension between
Rhys and Bridget is simmering hot and that’s what keeps me reading romance books.
Once again, the friendship between the characters was a great addition to the story, and
I’m really excited about Jules and Josh’s book. They are intriguing characters, so I can’t
wait to learn more about them and see how they are together. I also loved the crumbs we
got about Alex and Ava. Rhys and Bridget’s story was very different from theirs but just
as good! I really like this series and the characters, and I’m looking forward to seeing
what Ana Huang has planned next.

“You were still mine.” I curled my hand around the back of her neck while keeping my
thumb on her lip. “Mine to fight with. Mine to protect. Mine to fuck.” My voice dropped.
“Mine to love.”
“I was a rule follower by nature. It was how I’d survived most of my life. But for Bridget, I
would break every rule in the book.”
“He was so much better, even when he tried to convince me he was worse, and I wanted
him like nothing before. Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. I wanted every
shadow of his soul and every piece of his beautiful, multilayered heart. I wanted to pour
into him every drop of light I had to give until he consumed me whole. Until I was his, and
he was mine.”
