HAD TO LEAVE MY PREVIOUS JOB AS I HAD DELIVERED A BABY AND WHILE REJOINING MY BABY WAS JUST 3
MONTHS OLD. SO, WORKED BACK AGAIN FOR A MONTH AND A HALF BUT SOON I REALISED THAT I WAS
JUGGLING WAY TOO HARD BETWEEN BEING A MOTHER AND BEING A PROFESSIONAL TEACHER AND WAS NOT
ABLE TO DO JUSTICE TO BOTH MY RESPONSIBILITY AS A MOTHER AND AS ATEACHER. I HAD TO THEREBY TAKE A
DECISION TO LEAVE THE JOB AND BECOME A DEDICATED MOTHER TO MY GROWING CHILD.

 e. Do you see an alignment between your academic background, your work experience, long term career
goals and this role of Resource Person / Teacher Educator? If yes, how? If not, what do you consider to
be a misalignment?

YES, I SEE A STRONG ALIGNMENT. Over the past SEVEN years that I've served as a teacher, I took the initiative to
revamp our teaching methodology from just cramming to practical implementation of formulas theories (in
chemistry), making them understand the basic concepts first and then proceeding on to the advanced ones so that
they could overcome the fear of science subject so our students could overcome learning barriers and exceed the
standards we set out for them. Two-THREE years after implementing the new METHODOLOGY, I performed an
analysis and found that our students' test scores improved by a 64% margin with an average score that placed
them well above competing schools."

f. What motivates you to work towards improving the Public Education System of our country?

According to the United Nations Organization (UNO), India ranks 145 out of 191 in the world for providing
education. We are not even in the top 50 in the world. This shows the level of improvement we need to do to
update ourselves. If we want our country to grow and move forward we have to start by improving the education
we provide for the children. As the saying goes “The children of today are the future of tomorrow”, we should start
by updating the Indian education system from the primary level. Instead of only allowing the students to learn
theoretical knowledge, the educational authorities should introduce practical methods through which children can
apply the knowledge they learned through the books. If by moderating our education system, we can bring a wave
of revolution then we have to do it for the sake of a brighter future.

I always wanted to become a teacher so that I could make a real difference in children's lives. I took the task of
developing young people into kind, thoughtful and contributing adults very seriously. I have always been so
grateful to my teachers and the educational system for making me the person that I am today. I only hope that I
can make that same kind of positive impact on the minds and hearts of my students.

g. Describe any situation in your professional life when you succeeded without any/much guidance or
direction? What was the learning?

During my initial years of teaching when I was not very experienced I was handed over the responsibility of a
senior class of which I had zero experience of handling. The class was a mix of different types of students. Some
extremely notorious who didn’t wanted to study at all, some academically bright ones and some average and
below average ones. To be very honest initially I faced a lot of problem in bringing all of them to one page but with
my hard work, perseverance and dedication at the end of the academic year just three months before the annual
exams I disciplined the entire class, made them inclined towards studying and not all of them but atleast maximum
of them who did not even understood the simplest of concepts of Science, got good(almost 50-55% marks) in
Science in their final results. This made me learn and understand that no student is bad, they are just misguided
and correct guidance, help and a little support and lot of understanding from the teacher’s side can bring about a
change in their attitude and behavior.

 h. What do you consider your strengths?

My patience, strong command over subject, ability to communicate with the child, provide him/her with
ways/guide him/her ways to solve their respective problems, compassionate to a certain extent, trying
out ways that can help them understand the subject rather than muggle it up.
