Week 10 - Report Writing Assignment
A recommendation report is a type of report that offers suggestions for a certain course of action
to solve a persisting problem. The purpose of a recommendation report is to tell the reader
about a problem and to offer recommendations to solve the issue.
1. The Introduction: This section provides context for the report and outlines the purpose.
2. The background information: This section provides relevant information about the topic
and sets the stage for the problem statement.
3. The problem statement: This section defines the issue that needs to be addressed and
describes why it's important.
4. The analysis section: This is where the report provides a detailed analysis of the
situation. This might include any data or evidence and it helps the reader to understand
the problem.
5. The options: This section talks about the potential solutions to a problem. It looks into
the advantages and disadvantages of each recommendation.
6. The recommendations: This section provides the report's suggested course of action,
including a plan for implementing the recommendation.
7. The conclusion: This section summarizes the report's findings and explains the
importance of the recommendation.
Introduction:
This report offers a recommendations to improve workplace safety in the company. The report
informs management about the problems and solutions to help address the issue.
Background Information:
The high employee turnover rate at the company is due to reasons, like low job satisfaction, lack
of training and development, and low compensation. The company has also had a hard time
keeping skilled employees, which is a big loss of valuable skills.
Problem Statement:
Employee turnover has a negative impacts on the company's overall performance. It affects
productivity, and adds costs to the company due to recruitment and training of new employees.
This has led to a decline in customer satisfaction and revenue.
Analysis:
The company needs to take steps to improve employee satisfaction and create an environment
that encourages employees to stay. One way to achieve this is by increasing the salary and
offer better benefits to their employees. Another way is to provide training and development
opportunities for employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Options:
To address the problem of employee turnover, the company has to do the following options:
1. Increase compensation and benefits to bring in new employees and encourage them to
stay with the company.
2. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and
knowledge.
3. Offer flexible work arrangements, to increase job satisfaction and reduce stress.
4. Implement an employee recognition program to reward employees for their
achievements.
Recommendations:
To reduce employee turnover, the company can do the following recommendations:
1. Increase salaries, offer bonuses, and provide better healthcare benefits.
2. Offer workshops and training programs to allow employees to further advance their
skills.
3. Offer employees the option to work from home, provide flexible work hours, and paid
time off.
4. Give public recognition to the employees who have worked hard and positively affected
the company.
Conclusion:
By implementing these recommendations, the company can reduce employee turnover and
increase employee satisfaction, which will lead to better productivity and profitability. The
company should prioritize employee satisfaction to bring in and keep their valued employees
and create a positive work culture.
Task 3: Reflection
Through this experience, I have learned that a well-written report should have a clear structure
and purpose, and should be directed towards a specific audience. It should offer a detailed
analysis of the issue, present multiple options, and offer recommendations.
The most challenging aspect of writing this report was trying to balance the amount of detail in
each section while keeping the report concise and organized. Another challenge was ensuring
that the recommendations were practical and feasible for the company to implement.
I think I need to develop my ability to synthesize information more effectively and write more
concisely. I also need to improve my skills in identifying the most important details and
presenting them in a clear and organized manner. Finally, I need to work on my ability to make
clear and actionable recommendations, as this is an important aspect of report writing.
