Backend Developer at Rootz
Our mission in the Tech team is to develop innovative new
features while maintaining high quality of the systems. The ideal
candidate will report directly to the Head of Tech and together
you will explore new opportunities for Rootz to further build
and automate business functions and infrastructure.
A taste of what you will be doing:
• Code and deliver quality software in Go
• Maintain, build, and test new features for our existing
applications
• Identify the causes of reported issues and implement the
respective fixes
• Implement both backend and API functionality
• Collaborate within all levels of the organisation to translate
existing requirements into robust, scalable software
applications
• Act as a critical point of contact and supply technical
feedback to other teams
• Create and maintain all kinds of user, application, and
architecture documentation
• Take ownership of the of the product lifecycle of several
systems
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling
systems
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies/industry trends
The type of profile we are looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in computer-related area of study
• Minimum 3 years of related programming, testing and
system architecture experience
• Experience in developing microservices, ideally in Go
• Strong knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL
writing skills, proven experience working with relational
database platforms
• Knowledge of ClickHouse, AWS and Cloudflare would be
considered an asset
• Strong understanding of software design principles
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance
multiple concurrent projects and work well with minimal
supervision
• Excellent communication skills
