I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Use everyday English phrases and expressions to develop their language skills.
- Express surprise, appreciation, admiration or strong feelings/ reactions about something by
using exclamations with What.
- Recognize and have knowledge about some famous landmarks in big cities through
description.
2. Ability
- To encourage Ss to take part in all classroom activities.
- To improve reading and speaking skills.
II. Languages contents and skills
- Vocabulary: use the words related to cities and landmarks.
- Skill:
+ Getting information from the text.
+ Learning speaking from given examples and working in pairs or groups.
- III. Method: integrated, co-operative learning, mainly communicative approach.
IV. Techniques: individual work, pair work, group work, repetition, explanation, asking-
answering, ….
V. Teaching aids: a board, hand-outs, text books, protector/TV, notebook, lesson plan,
laptop, paper, markers, …
VI. Procedure:
*CITY LANDMARKS
Aim: to help Ss get used to some famous landmarks in
big cities and help students recognise each landmark
through its description.
Recognizing Exercise 3: Work in pairs. Write the names of the
(5 minutes) landmarks under the correct pictures. (p.31)
- T shows the photos of the four landmarks and asks Ss:
+ “How many landmarks are there in Ex.3?” - Ss answer
+ “Who knows the names of these landmarks?” questions
If students do not know their name in English, allow
them to use Vietnamese.
