Lesson 4 - Multimeter
Lesson 4 - Multimeter
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Region VII
III. Procedures
A. Introductory Activities
Prayer
Checking of Attendance
B. Motivation:
Take a look at the multimeter scale as I hold both of the test probes. Did it move? If yes, why do
you think so?
Possible Answer: It did move, since our body is an example of a conductor/resistor. A material which
the electrons flow, and the multimeter is used to measure such continuity of electron flow.
Scale Reading
Resistance:
0 to 2- every graduation is 0.2
2 to 10- every graduation is 0.5
10 to 20- every graduation is 1
20 to 50- every graduation is 2
50 to 100- every graduation is 5
100 to 200- every graduation is 20
Voltage
Range 10 – 0.2V
Range 50- 1V
Range 250- 5V
Range 100- 20V
E. Generalization
Therefore, a multimeter is an importance measuring device for electricians. As this will inform
about the accurate measurement of voltage, current, resistance. This is also a crucial tool to
calculate wattage and power of a device or appliances.
F. Application
Group the students into two, using the multi-tester, measure the following
resistance/voltage/current of the following electrical devices:
1. resistance of a bulb
2. continuity of the male plug of an electric fan
3. 12-volt battery
4. Extension wire
5. Voltage of the electrical outlet
IV. Evaluation
