II. RATIONALE:

Subject knowledge has a very important role to play because high


quality teaching rests on teachers understanding the subjects they
are teaching, knowing the structure and sequencing of concepts,
developing factual knowledge essential to each subject and guiding
their pupils into the different ways. A subject matter expert’s
knowledge comes both opportunities and challenges. On the bright
side, being a subject matter expert is good for your professional
development. After all, the more relied upon a subject matter expert
becomes, the more valuable and opportunities for growth. A subject
matter expert is one of the most important factors in delivering a
quality education. On the other hand, the field of education are
being challenged now because of the pandemic, but Learning and
practicing key teamwork skills will make interactions more
successful. For instance, focus on rapport-building, listening,
empathizing, respectfully disagreeing, collaboration and expressing
appreciation. Sharing knowledge and guidance to create more
domain experts can be incredibly rewarding. By deepen the
knowledge, it can also put what they’ve learned to work and help
lighten burden. Effective teaching requires teachers to possess
detailed subject matter knowledge intertwined with knowledge of
pedagogy, curriculum, student behavior, learning objectives and
outcomes.

OBJECTIVES:

This 1 Day School-based webinar on how to develop skills to be a


subject matter expert aspire to:

 To develop the teacher’s ability to have good command and


control of the subject content handed over to him/her in the
school.
 To update individual’s skills, attitudes and approaches in
light of the development of new teaching techniques and
objectives
 To exchange information and expertise among teachers
