Writing My Learning/ Lesson Plan

Learning/ Lesson Plan – this refers to the blueprint of the daily teaching and learning activities. It is
a step-by-step guide which helps teachers in maintaining the quality of instruction. Lesson plans
consist of essential components such as learning outcomes, learning content, resources and
procedures. An effective lesson plan has a great impact on the teaching- learning process. It is a must
that teachers plan their lesson effectively to ensure a successful instructional experience. There are
three types of lesson plan: detailed, semi detailed and brief. Some schools design their own lesson
plan template which includes their vision, mission, goals and core values.
The Department of Education has provided templates for Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) and Daily
Lesson Log (DLL). This was done to institutionalize instructional planning which is vital to the
teachinglearning process. Guidelines were formulated to assist teachers in planning, organizing and
managing their lessons to meet the needs of the diverse learners.
Teachers must also keep in mind that in stating the learning outcomes, the three domains must be
considered. (Cognitive, Affective, and Psychomotor). Outcomes must be stated in terms that are
specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound (SMART). The cognitive domain includes
remembering, understanding, applying, analysing, evaluating and creating.
When writing lesson plans, the learning outcomes, activities and assessment must be constructively
aligned. The instructional strategies used must help in the attainment of the learning outcomes. The
modes of assessment must determine if the outcomes were attained at the end of the lesson.

Participate, Assist and Notice

With all those information in mind and the template above, you are all set in writing your
lesson plan. Prepare your lesson plan based on the learning competencies of the lesson.
Consider the age appropriateness and level of communication of your students. Do this in a
separate sheet of bond paper.

Afterwards, answer the questions below.

1. What factors did you consider in writing your lesson/ learning plan?

The factors that I considered in writing my lesson plan are the learning
objectives, content standards, student needs, age, grade level, and the
assessment method.

2. What difficulties did you meet in writing your lesson/ learning plans?

The difficulties that I met in writing my lesson plan are the instructional
challenges such as how to align my objectives to the curriculum standards,
selecting relevant resources, and how to cater diverse learning styles for my
leaners.

Analyze

1. How did you arouse students’ interest? What motivational techniques did you indicate in
your plan?

The motivational techniques indicated in my plan is the engaging activities which

I allow my students to create a simple visual model for the given specific topic
that we are going learn. By this, students will able to show their creativity and
actively participate in the class.

2. What instructional strategies will you employ in face-to-face or in remote learning

delivery for this lesson? Explain.

The instructional strategy that I will employ for my lesson is through the use and
incorporation of learning materials and digital tools. These will enable students
to innovate their tasks conveniently.

3. Are your modes of assessment aligned with your learning outcomes and activities? Cite
your specific example.

Yes, my modes of assessment aligned with my learning outcomes and activities.

For example, one of my objectives is that students will assemble a simple

electric generator to model the relationship between electricity and magnetism, so

part of their activity is to create a simple generator with the use of batteries, iron nail,
and paper clips. Students will note their findings based on their creation and
performance.

4. In a scale of 1-10, how will you rate your learning plan? Justify your answer.

On a scale of 1-10, I will rate my learning plan with 8. This is because I still find
difficult to organize my competencies and learning objectives .

5. If this lesson is not implemented face-to-face, how are you going to do it remotely?

If this lesson is not implemented face-to-face, I will going to do it through pre-

recorded videos. I will let my students record their presentation while creating the
said model and should handed-in in google classroom .

Reflect
1. Why is lesson planning an integral part of the instructional cycle?

Lesson planning is integral to the instructional cycle because it ensures focused

instruction, clear objectives and effective assessment. This will serves as a
guidance tools for teachers in delivering coherent and meaningful content.

Moreover, lesson planning also promotes organization and efficiency in class. It

facilitates alignment with curriculum standards and enhances student
engagement. Effective planning also enables teachers to differentiate instruction,
address learning gaps and assess student progress and optimizes teaching and
learning outcomes.
