Task Brief:
Students will select pre-approved video and plan and record the dialogues and apply ADR techniques
to their assignment in order to give a crystal clear output. Students will be evaluated on their dialog
quality, sync accuracy, and ADR skills.

Planning & Management:
● Media Selection:
○ Select a film sequence of any language of upto 3 minutes, which has fair balance of
dialogues/music & Sound effects. (Sfx and music not needed to be worked on for
this assignment)
○ Get it approved from faculty.
● Script Transcribing:
○ Prepare a script excerpt with the specific lines needing ADR. (Document File
○ Prepare an excerpt of the same per artist/recording session.
● Actor Selection and Scheduling:
○ Schedule recording sessions with the suitable voice artists for the characters.
○ Time and resource management is critical.
○ Document the scheduling & script excerpts for review.
Recording Process:
● Technical Setup:
○ Set up a recording booth with a high-quality microphone setup, monitoring & talk
back with the help of Intern.
○ Prepare a video monitor to display the scene for the actor.
○ Position the microphone for optimal sound capture. Do trial runs with the artist for
level setting & voice warm up.

● Recording Takes & Performance Feedback:
○ Ensure good levels while recording.
○ Monitor every take. Re-record lines for emotion, level consistency and good timing.
Maintain good recording takes.
○ Guidance and feedback while asking to be recorded to ensure a good performance.
Edit & Quality Check:
● Editing and Quality Control: Lock the best takes and edit them further for balance, clarity
and lip sync. Clean up session for easy readability.
● Render: Bounce the final ADR with video and submit AV output.
Submission Guidelines/Deliverables:
● Each student needs to submit the files individually.
● Submit a .MOV or .Mp4 files with a Assignment Name_Student Name_Date. Showcase
Project in class.
