I am to invite a reference to Government of Karnataka, Finance Department Order

No. FD 9 SRP 2023, BANGALORE dated 30.05.2023, and to authorize you to pay DA at 35%
(from 31 %) of the revised basic pension / family pension with effect from 01-01-2023, to
the State Government pensioners/family pensioners of Karnataka including the
pension ers/fa m ily pensioners of the Aided Educational lnstitutions whose pension/family
pension is paid out of Consolidated Fund of the State .

Govemment aro pleased to enhance the rates of Deamess Allowance payable to

the State Government Employees in the 2018 Revised Pay Scales from the existing 3l7o
to 357o of Basic Pay with effect from ldJanuary 2023.

2. For the purpose of this order, the term 'Basic Pay' means, pay drawn by a
Government Employee in the scale of pay applicable to the post held by him and
includes:
a) Stagnation increment, if any, granted to him above the maximum of
the soale ofpay;
b) Personal Pay, if any, granted to him undcr sub-rule (3) of Rule 7 read
with Rulc 3(c) of tho Kamataka Civil Scrvices (Revised Pay) Rules,
2018;
c) Additional increment, if any, granted to him above the maximum of
the scale of pay.

3. Basic Pay shall not includc any emoluments other than those specified abovc.

8. The increase in Deamess Allowance admissible unde.r this order is payable in

cash.

10. The payment of arrears of Deamess Allowance shall not be made before the
date of disbursement of salary tbr the month of May 2023.

ll. fhe Dearness Aliowance wiii be shown as a distinct element of remuneratiou
