Lab 2
Overview In this lab, you will complete the installation of Windows 10.
Normally, you would insert the installation disk into the DVD
drive and boot the system from the disk. We are using virtual
machines and will use virtual disks (ISO) to complete the install.
Mindset The simplest way to perform a clean install (a new installation) of
Windows 10 is to boot from bootable Windows 10 installation disk
or USB drive, which will start the setup program.
Completion time 20 minutes
1. On CST-CL1, you should already be at the Windows Setup screen, as shown in Figure 2-
1. With the Language to install, Time and currency format, and Keyboard or input
method already selected for you on the screen, click Next.

3. On the License Terms page, select the I accept the license terms option and then click
Next.
4. Click the Custom: Install Windows only (advanced) option.
5. When you are prompted to indicate where to install Windows, Drive 0 Partition 2 is
already selected. Click Next.
6. If a message displays, indicating that there are previous Windows installations, click OK.
Note that steps 7-20 may vary depending on the exact options and hardware you are
using. You will need to read and understand the process to succeed with the install.
7. The installation will take several minutes. After the virtual machine reboots, on the Get
going fast page, click Use Express settings.
8. On the Create an account for this PC page, in the Who’s going to use this PC text box,
type Admin.
9. In the Enter password text box and the Re-enter password text box, type Pa$$w0rd. In
the Password hint text box, type Default. Click Next.
10. Right-click the Start button and choose System. The System page opens.
13. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Change button.
15. When asked for a username in the Windows Security dialog box, in the User name text
box, type Administrator. In the Password text box, type Pa$$w0rd, and click OK.
