Pupils can:
a. make at least two suggestions to their classmates using Let’s.
b. listen and give suitable responses to at least two suggestions made by their classmates.
LEARNING OUTLINE
1. Make two teams. A pupil from each team sits on a chair at the front of the class with his/her
back to the board.
2. Write a holiday activity on the board.
LESSON
PRE-
3. The teams mime to their representative on the chair for him/her to guess the activity.
4. The team who guesses first gets a point.
5. Continue with other holiday activities.
6. Activity 1:
a. Pupils look at Student's Book page 74 and the first frame of the story. Misty says Let's go in.
b. Use this example to elicit/teach the meaning and use of Let's ...
c. Make sure pupils notice that it is followed by a simple verb, e.g. go/paint.
d. Give pupils time to look at the pictures in the SB and read the sentences.
e. Play the recording. Pupils listen for the answers.
f. Pupils compare answers in pairs.
g. Play the recording again. Check with the class.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
h. Say each suggesting and response for pupils to repeat and check understanding of the
responses.
7. Activity 2:
a. Play the suggestion and the three responses for pupils to repeat and act out.
b. Pupils practise in pairs.
8. Activity 3:
a. Demonstrate the activity for the class and then give practice in open pairs.
b. Pupils take turns to act out and respond in closed pairs. (Assessment)
e.g. Pupil A: Let's play football. Pupil B: Sorry , I don't want to.
9. Activity 4:
a. Distribute the worksheet.
b. Activity A: Pupils complete the sentences with the words.
c. Activity B: Pupils match the pictures with the dialogues in Act 1 and number the pictures.
10. Make some suggestions for ending the lesson, e.g.Let's play a game. Let's read a story.
