Bike Towing Mechanism: Submitted By: Mandar Patki S-22 (152021) Pratik Vaidya S-35 (152129) Saket Wakde U-37 (152056)

This document proposes a bike towing mechanism to efficiently tow stranded two-wheelers without damage. The mechanism aims to minimize human effort and towing time compared to conventional towing. It works by locking the front steering wheel and pulling the bike from no parking areas. The design considers factors like materials selection, bike dimensions from surveys, ergonomic considerations, manufacturing processes, and modeling. The mechanism is intended to reduce towing time and human effort while lowering the risk of vehicle damage during the towing process.

Problem Statement:
• To provide a Towing mechanism to Traffic
services for handling two wheelers efficiently
without any Damage ,stucked in NO parking
zone.
Objectives
• To minimize the human effort required in
conventional towing
• To minimize the overall time required to tow the
vehicles
• To prevent damage occurred during
conventional towing
Introduction
• To avoid mentioned problem, Bike Towing
Mechanism is made.
• The working principle is to lock the steering
wheel(i.e. Front wheel) and pull the bike from
No parking Area.
Conventional Towing
Material Selection
The materials are selected by using
• Johnson’s MOD
Survey
• Tire diameter
• Chord length of wheel
• Rear wheel reaction
• Front wheel reaction
Design
Design for cross section
• F.B.D. of links
• Cross Section of pipe
• Selection of Cross Section
• Ergonomic Considerations
• Dimensions by Bike specification survey
Ergonomic Considerations
By using Anthropometric Data
• Pull and push strength of Human Being
Manufacturing Processes
• Cutting
• Grinding
• Arc Welding
• Laser Cutting Operation
Modelling
Result and Applications
• Time Required for towing of vehicles is reduced
than conventional handling
• Less human efforts required
• Risk of vehicle damage is reduced
Future Scope
• Roller wheels can be replaced by caster wheels.
• Lifting platform can be optimized to directly
load the vehicle in truck without much efforts
• Instead of grooves, sliding platform can also be
provided to accommodate different tire size.
