DEFINITION OF INTELLIGENCE TEST
 Intelligence tests are psychological tests that
are designed to measure a variety of mental
functions such as reasoning, comprehension,
and judgment.
PURPOSES OF INTELLIGENCE TEST
 The goal of intelligence tests is to obtain an
idea of the person's intellectual potential.
 The tests centre around a set of stimuli

designed to yield a score based on the test


maker's model of what makes up intelligence.
 Intelligence tests are often given as a part of

a battery of tests.
TYPES OF TEST FOR INTELLIGENCE
The four most commonly used intelligence
tests are:
 Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales
 Wechsler-Adult Intelligence Scale
 Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children
STANFORD-BINET INTELLIGENCE SCALES

This test is for the age of 2 to 70 years of age.

MEASURES:-
 Fluid reasoning( the capacity to learn new

ways of solving problems).


 knowledge
 Quantitative reasoning(the application of

mathematical concepts and skills to solve real


world problem).

 Visual spatial processing ( organizing visual
information into meaningful patterns and
understanding how they might change as
they rotate and move through space).
 Working memory( the ability of actively hold

information in the mind needed to do


complex tasks such as reasoning and
learning)

WECHSLER ADULT INTELLIGENCE
SCALE
This is for the age of 16-80 years.

MEASURE:-
 Verbal comprehension
 Perceptual organization
 Working memory
 Processing speed
WECHSLER INTELLIGENCE SCALE
THIS TEST IS FOR THE AGE OF 6- 16 YEARS.

MEASURES:-
 Verbal comprehension
 Working memory
 Executive function skills
ADVANTAGES:-
 In general , intelligence test measure a wide
variety of human behaviours better than any
other measure that has been developed.
 They allow professionals to have a uniform

way of comparing a person’s performance


with that of other people who are similar in
age .
 These test also provide information on
cultural and biological differences among
people.
TEST FOR APTITUDE

MEANING:-
 Aptitude test , examination that attempts to
determine and measure a person’s ability to
acquire , through future training , some
specific set of skills ( intellectual , motor and
so on).
 The test assume that people differ in their

special abilities and these differences can be


useful in predicting future achievements.
IMPORTANCE OF APTITUDE TEST
 They are excellent predictors of future
scholastic achievement.
 They provide a profile of strength &
weaknesses.
 They provide ways of comparing a child’s

performance with that of other children in the


same situation.
 They are valuable tool for working with

handicapped children.
 It is quick and inexpensive

These include questions which test your ability
to spell words correctly , use correct
grammar, understand analogues and follow
detailed written instruction.
NUMERIC ABILITY TEST
These include questions on basic arithmetic ,
number sequence and simple mathematics .
This type of test is used to determine your
basic numeracy.
ABSTRACT REASONING TEST
These test are based on diagrams and
measure your ability to identify the
underlying logic of a pattern and then
determine the solution.
DATA CHECKING TEST
These task presents you with the number of
tables of information which must be checked
against each other . This type of test is used
to measure how quickly and accurately error
can be detected in data.
SPATIAL REASONING
These task measure your ability to manipulate
shapes in two dimensions or to visualize 3
dimensional objects presents as 2
dimensional pictures.
ACHIEVEMENT TEST

INTRODUCTION :-
>Achievement test is an important tool in
school evaluation and has a great significance
in measuring instructional progress and
progress of the students in the subject area.
>Achievement means one’s learning ,
attainment, accomplishment ,etc. It directly
related to the pupils growth and development
in educational situations.
DEFINITION OF ACHIEVEMENT TEST
 ACCORDING TO NM DOWNIE
Any test that measure the attainment
or accomplishment of an individual after a
period of learning or training .

 ACCORDING TO GROULUND
A systematic procedure for
determining the amount student has learned
through instruction.
FUNCTION
 It provide basis for promotion to the next grade.
 To find out where each student stand in various
academic areas.
 It helps determination about the placement of
the student in a particular section.
 To motivate a students before a new assignment
has taken up.
 To know how effectively the student is
performing in the theory as well as the clinical
areas.

 Standardization means uniformity of
procedure in scoring , administering and
interpreting the result.
 A standardized test is one in which the

procedure , apparatus and scoring have been


fixed so that precisely the same test can be
given at different times and places.

 Teacher made test are classroom tests and
are developed by the teachers.
 These test assess students learning every

period of time or after a particular unit of


study.
LIMITATIONS OF TEACHER MADE
TEST:-
 Test are ambiguous and unclear.

 Test are either too short or too lengthy.

 Test donot cover the entire content.

 Test are usually hurriedly conducted.

 Test serve limited purpose.


PERSONALITY TEST
 PERSONALITY:- The sum total of ways in
which an individual reacts and reacts with
other.

 Personality is a pattern of stable states and


characteristics of person that influence his or
her behaviour toward goal achievement.

 INTERVIEW

The most common method of judging


Personality . The aim of an interview is to
collect information about an individual
characteristic , behaviour interest , assets and
weakness.

EYSENCK PERSONALITY
QUESTIONAIRE
 A questionnaire to assess the personality
traits of a person.

 Devised by the psychologist Hans Jurgon


Eysenck and his wife Sybil B. G.Eysenck.
PROJECTIVE PERSONALITY TEST
 RORSCHACH TEST:-
Hermann Rorschach , a Swiss psychiatrist
developed the first major use of projective
technique around 1910. Test consist of 10
ambiguous , symmetrical inkblots . The
person select one inkblots , according to that
we assess the personality.
SENTENCE COMPLETION TEST
 A sentence completion test presented with
incomplete sentence and is asked to
complete each sentence with the first
response that comes to mind.
FIGURE DRAWING
 An individual is instructed to draw a person ,
object or a situation so that cognitive ,
interpersonal functioning can be assessed.
