    STRUCTURE OF THE
    NAIL
    The Nail is a horny protective covering of
    the finger and toe. The technical term for the
    nail is onyx. The Horny tissue formed at the
    base of the protein substance is called
    keratin. A normal nail should be firm,
    Flexible, and pinkish.
    PART OF THE NAIL
    The Matrix is where the growth of the nail starts
    just under the fold of the skin.
    The Nail plate is the layer you see. The nail plate is
    semitransparent allowing the color of the blood supply
    of the dermis to show through.
    The Nail bed the underlying flesh where the entire
    nail plate is attached.
    The Lanula is a light-colored crescent shaped
    area at the base of the nail
    The cuticle is the tough fold of the skin that forms
    at the base and side of the nail plate and often
    referred to as dead skin cells
    The Eponychium is the cuticle at the base of the
    nail.

    Here are some common nail problems and how to
    remedy them with the nail product and guidance
    from the professional manicurist.

    manicure. Use base coat prior to applying
    nail enamel to help prevent stain.

    2. Make the design you have chosen
    3. Apply the same procedure for all finger and toes
    4. Apply the top coat
    5. Remove all the excess polish around the nail.

    dead cuticles.

    the circulation

    used to remove nail
    polish
    3. A cuticle softener contains
    potassium hydroxide base to
    soften the skin. Applying this on
    the nail makes it easier too lift
    the cuticle.
    4. Base coat is directly
    applied to nails to
    protect them from
    stain colored polishes
    5. Top Coat applied
    over the colored enamel
    prevents peeling and
    chipping
    6. A color enamel is
    applied over the base
    coat to give strength
    and color to the nail
    plate.
    7. A quick dry is used to brush over
    the top coat to quicken the drying
    process.
