Excellence
COLOSSIANS 3: 23-24

Whatever you do, work at it with

all your heart, as working for the
Lord, not for human masters,
since you know that you will
receive an inheritance from the
Lord as a reward. It is the Lord
Christ you are serving.
Introduction
God wants us to do good and pursue excellence.
Galatians 6:9 says "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the
proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Striving for excellence is an approach and attitude; it is a mindset, a desire

to be your best! It is an eternal desire that drives our performance and
influences our results. It is a journey of continuous learning and
improvement, a desire to be the best we can be and maximize our potential.
To clarify, striving for excellence is not about perfection. Perfection is

futile and can never be achieved.
Excellence: the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.

Introduction
We know excellence when we see it.
Whether it is in sports or business, excellence stands out! We recognize it in

individuals by what we them doing; they stand out from the pack!
They excel at what they do through their actions, behaviors and attitude
They think and act differently!
They have separated themselves from the average.

Why is Excellence
Important to God?
Excellence allows us to do all things for the glory of God instead of our
own glory and self-righteous appearance.
Our God is more interested in our hearts and our willingness to attempt
all that the asks of us, than in our faultless completion of the tasks.
Why We Need To Be Excellent?

1. It glorifies our Almighty God
2. It demonstrates gratitude to our Creator
3. It shows love to others
4. To become more like Jesus
How can we serve
God with excellence?
Work is not merely a means of earning a living: it is an opportunity

to serve God with excellence.
Whether it's in our job or career, our studies, of our daily chores
and tasks, we can bring glory to God by working with diligence and
wholeheartedness.
Our attitude toward work reflects our devotion to Christ.

DON’T SETTLE FOR AVERAGE

Do not be contented by being a mediocre believer.
ALWAYS GIVE 100%

• You don’t have to be 100% all day but you do have to
be 100% in the things that are important.
DEMONSTRATE CONSISTENCY
• In order to be excellent of everything we do, and
consistent, focus on delivering on our standards of
performance every time.
II. NEVER STOP
DEMONSTRATE CONSISTENCY
IMPROVING
• KNOWING WE WILL MAKE MISTAKES AND NOT GET IT
RIGHT EVERY TIME. BUT ACKNOWLEDGING OUR
DEFICIENCIES AND SEEING IT FOR WHAT IS IT AND
COMMIT TO GETTING BACK ON TRACK.
• CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE LEADS TO CONSISTENT
RESULTS.
