Assistant Professor 10, Finance
University at Buffalo
The School of Management at the University at Buffalo (State University of New York, SUNY at Buffalo), invites nominations and applications for full-time tenure track Assistant Professor faculty positions (rank open) to start in Fall 2025. The positions seek candidates in the field of financial research.
Applicants for this appointment must hold a doctoral degree, or will be defending their doctoral dissertation by June 1, 2025, in the field of finance or closely related field. The successful candidate must demonstrate the motivation and capacity to excel in both research and teaching. Qualifications will include a demonstrable interest in, and capacity to conduct research publishable in top academic outlets, as well as an ability and motivation to provide excellent instruction in the field of finance at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We welcome applications from all areas of finance, especially from someone with expertise in AI. The university will be part of a $400 million statewide AI consortium and the supercomputing facility associated with this project to be housed in our campus.

Minimum Qualifications
• A doctoral degree (PhD), or will be defending their doctoral dissertation by June 1, 2025, in Finance or closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated performance in delivering effective teaching to both undergraduate and graduate students.
• Applicants should have strong interest and capability to undertake scholarly research publishable in leading journals.
Preferred Qualifications
• Candidates’ exceptional disciplinary training should be combined with a strong interest in the professional mission of the School of Management.
• A preferred (but not required) area of interest is Artificial Intelligence.
