Motivation

[edit]

The Straßenkennziffer (Austrian Street ID) is the official ID for small settlements (hamlets, despersed settlements ... ) and streets. It is administrated by "Statistik Austria" and by "BEV", see (en:Statistik Austria and en:Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen) I will use it as identifier to add statistical data to items. I suggest "Street ID (Austria)" or "Austrian Street ID" instead of Straßenkennziffer. --Maincomb (talk) 17:44, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Your proposal, so it's generally expected that you'd update it. --- Jura 11:05, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Pamputt: the property you created doesn't seem to match the proposal. Please explain why you changed label and description from the proposal --- Jura 09:33, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My first suggestion was "street number in Austria" but then I thougt "Austrian Street ID" would be better. --Maincomb (talk) 09:54, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
do not hesitate to modify by yourself. Pamputt (talk) 10:32, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Pamputt: the creation is meant to match the consensus you assessed. I don't want to give the impression I changed it from that. Can you explain the difference between the proposal above and your creation? --- Jura 10:45, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Pamputt: The main usage will be for small settlements because in small settlements without named streets, the number represents the settlement itself. I did this in Kolonie Backhausen (Q81929048) (=small settlement) an got an exclamation mark. And I will use this in the language "German" and in de:WP. There is no at:WP because "Austrian German" is a variety of Standard German and only used in some formal situations. --Maincomb (talk) 10:08, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Maincomb: I think I addressed all the problem you mentionned. About the language, I think it makes sense to ask to fill a label in Austrian German because this is the variety of the language that is spoken in Austria. That's said, I also added "standard" German. Pamputt (talk) 11:14, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for creating this. I expanded one of the sample items: Getreidegasse in Salzburg --- Jura 21:43, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
“The main usage will be for small settlements because in small settlements without named streets, the number represents the settlement itself.” No, there is no consensus for this. See above. Emu (talk) 23:57, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
"use this property for streets (about 130.000 items) is possible, but only planned in exceptional cases" - my intention was to use this property in existing items (like Getreidegasse (Q688477)) but there should not be created 130.000 new items because of this property. --Maincomb (talk) 11:46, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
"planned use" is the use by the proposer. One is obviously free to apply it to other suitable items. I just created a few for Salzburg, where Wikidata already had the street address. --- Jura 20:30, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
