Types of VKontakte retargeting

There are several types of retargeting in VKontakte:
  • Retargeting by file. You can upload a file with a list of e-mail addresses or phone numbers of your customers. If they are signed up to VKontakte, you can show them ads. Here you can also upload VKontakte user IDs and Identifier for Advertising (IDFA) for Apple or Google Advertising ID (GAID) for Android to show advertisements to interested users.   • Retargeting by interaction with advertisement. Collect users who have seen your promo post, liked it or shared it with their friends, have seen your commercial, etc.
  • Look-alike audiences. Create a look-alike audience using the look-alike technology. A special algorithm will analyze your source database and find VK users who are behaving in a similar way right now.
  • Dynamic retargeting. Show ads to users with exactly the same products or services categories as they have viewed on your website or in a mobile application. This tool requires fine tuning, however, it will individualize your ad to the highest possible extent and, therefore, make it most effective.


VKontakte takes utmost care of any personal information of its users and commercial data of advertisers. Retargeting audience cannot be downloaded or exported. VKontakte retargeting pixel does not collect any technical information on the website, such as order numbers or logins; its only purpose is to find an authorized VKontakte user coming to the client�s website and retain him/her in a targeted audience.
