Calutrons
[edit]-
Alpha Track Calutron at the Y-12 Plant at Oak Ridge, Tennessee from the Manhattan Project, used for uranium enrichment.
-
Control panels and operators for calutrons at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. During the Manhattan Project the operators worked in shifts covering 24 hours a day.
-
Design of the receiver for the alpha calutron. Uranium- 235 collects in the small pocket between.
-
The "C" shaped alpha calutron tank, together with its emitters and collectors on the lower-edge door, was removed in a special "drydock" from the magnet for recovery of uranium-235.
-
A vast bank of diffusion vacuum pumps operated underneath the alpha calutron racetrack to free the tanks of air.

Spectra
[edit]-
Isotopic patern of an peptide. Mass spectrum recorded by Q-TOF mass spectrometer.
-
Mass Spectrum of peptide mixture obained by ESI-Q-TOF Mass Spectrometer. Horizontal scale presents mass (m) to charge (z) ratio. Vertical scale ilustrates intensity (number of detector counts).
