1902 Pacific typhoon season
[edit]I recently created the wiki page 1902 Pacific typhoon season, and I saw your track maps. I just want to ask: how did you find the speed information for the maps? TheNuggeteer (talk) 12:51, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- There's no wind speed information, however the colors in the maps are being used as minimum category represented in the NCDC TD9636 data. TD: below 34kt TS: 34-63kt TY: 64 kt and greater.-Supportstorm (talk) 14:38, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry for taking so long–and thank you for replying, I'm going to check the NCDC data (I don't yet know what that is). TheNuggeteer (talk) 08:11, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- You're welcome :). It's a dataset in IBTrACS. The column TD9636 STAGE has codes that indicate which stage the storm is. Here is the document that tells you what the codes mean: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/sites/g/files/anmtlf171/files/2024-06/IBTrACS%20v04r01%20column%20documentation.pdf Supportstorm (talk) 23:54, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
