Smithville-Sanders is a census-designated place (CDP) encompassing the communities of Smithville and Sanders in Monroe County, Indiana, United States.[2] Its population was 3,323 as of the 2020 census.[3]

Geography
editSmithville-Sanders is located in southern Monroe County. The village of Smithville is in the north-central part of the CDP around the intersection of Smithville Road and Strain Ridge Road, while Sanders is 0.5 miles (0.8 km) to the north on Fairfax Road. Most of the CDP consists of rural and semi-suburban land surrounding the two villages.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the CDP has an area of 10.72 square miles (27.8 km2), all of it land.[1] It is bordered to the south and east by portions of Monroe Lake, a reservoir on Salt Creek. To the west it is bordered partly by Little Clear Creek, part of the Salt Creek watershed, and partly by Indiana State Road 37, which leads north 7 miles (11 km) to Bloomington and south 16 miles (26 km) to Bedford.
