Regarding BTVA and filmographies

edit

On the filmographies, can you check that the BTVA references are going to check-marked roles only? If the green check mark is not there, it has not been verified. Also on the listed role, confirm that it is what is printed in the closing credits. Like for Final Fantasy Type-0, Steve Blum is credited as just Cid. I think you're already doing that but since there are a ton of roles, it's easy to miss a few. Also feel free for the video games to add the English release dates in DTS format. You can grab the releases from BTVA or Wikipedia and most of the time it'll be different from what his resume lists, since the latter is going off of Japanese release years. Thanks again. -AngusWOOF (talk) 17:10, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Oh yea. I was only checking the ones with check marks, and I researched videos of the end credits for some games to confirm Steve's involvement in these games. Thanks! Lacon432 (talk) 17:12, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yep, looks great. Thanks for going the extra mile and filling in the cite video games. It's a lot of work, but it really helps beef up the filmography. -AngusWOOF (talk)

Steve Blum filmography

edit

Hey, I noticed you removed the Behind The Voice Actors nominations at Steve Blum's filmography? Are you planning on adding them to a separate awards section? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:58, 29 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have no idea yet. I was planning to do this for various voice actors, like Jennifer Hale and Grey DeLisle and whatnot. Are you able to do so? Lacon432 (talk) 00:12, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

You can use Troy Baker as an example? If you don't plan on adding it then please keep them in the Notes. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:33, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of Interest policy and disclosure

edit

Hello, Lacon432. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Adam Lazarre-White, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Brianhe (talk) 17:59, 30 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:RuthStewart.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:RuthStewart.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:27, 23 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Table bug report

edit

Regarding Hans Zimmer discography: I "fixed" the table by formatting a non-header cell as if it were a header cell. It looks good with the default CSS but might look odd with non-default skins or custom CSS. I also opened phab:T185975 to report what to me seems to be a bug. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:36, 14 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from BBMak into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Thanks for uploading File:Dawngatelogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Thesims3seasons.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Thesims3seasons.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 00:54, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lacon432! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Bruce Dern that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. It looks like you are doing this on a high number of edits. Please read that help article. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 03:58, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

You also need to start using edit summaries. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief, but if you continually leave them blank, you are doing a real disservice to other editors.
