Mainly per the Wikipedia is not a dictionary policy -- this explains what pincers may refer to, but its principle purpose is to explain that "these are not the same thing", not to say anything meaningful about all pincers in general. It serves as a dictionary definition of pincers. Proposing this to be replaced with a disambiguation page. Did some googling to try to find sources discussing pincers generally; found none. - Keep While it may be a dreadfully underdeveloped article, that doesn't mean it lacks potential. The article could easily describe the evolution of pincers[1], their purpose in species [2], their methods of action, their presence across different clades, and probably even their role in culture (🦀). - Redirect to Chelae which is on the exact same thing, i.e. this is a needless WP:CFORK. Chiswick Chap (talk) 13:50, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- It's partly that but also appears to be talking about mandible (arthropod mouthpart). Unsure if maybe a disambiguation page pointing to those two is best, or just a redirect. Hornpipe2 (talk) 20:35, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- Mandibles aren't really pincers, as that implies a pair of blades that can grip, so chelae is a much better match. I guess you could put a 'See also' link to mandible at Chelae if you wanted. Chiswick Chap (talk) 20:50, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

- Redirect as suggested. I started to try to rescue this and came to the same conclusion. Bearian (talk) 04:31, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
- Redirect to Chelae. I could imagine some sort of comparative anatomy article that might bring in other structures converging on this form, but I'm not convinced it would match this title or scope. Choess (talk) 04:48, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
