I can see everything that I need in the GoogleBooks preview, but I cannot see which chapter of the anthology it is from. I do not need the full chapter, but I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide the full information so I can make the appropriate citation. Thank you in advance! - @SchroCat: Re. 1C, you're going to use every chapter of those two complete journals right? And I'd want at least a 1,000 words on the political, social and—even—cultural import and impact of the siege per 1B. Cheers, ——SerialNumber54129 11:16, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Serial Number 54129: I was going to go for 1,500 words, and include a historiography section to show how it impacted on gender issues in Outer Mongolia too. I think that should suit matters adequately! - SchroCat (talk) 11:35, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- @SchroCat: Going by recent history I think gender politics should probably be avoided. Also, note that the consequences of the siege were as significant for the Republican Movement as they were for the Met Police, also per 1B. Cheers! ——SerialNumber54129 11:56, 8 January 2019 (UTC)

Onondaga County, New York
editCould someone please send me this PDF from the Onondaga County, New York website, for use in an article on the 2017 Syracuse, New York mayoral election? It should be accessible to anybody in the U.S., but is (I believe) blocked in the UK for GDPR reasons, and isn't accessible via Google cache or Wayback Machine. (Apologies if this is the wrong location for this kind of request – I run into this problem quite often when working on U.S. politics articles, but this is the first time that neither workaround has worked.) – Arms & Hearts (talk) 20:10, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

Thought, Volume 16
editI would like page 1402 of this source which contains a review of the film Mere Lal. Thanks, Kailash29792 (talk) 15:53, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: 1402 is a page number assigned by Google when they scanned the bound volume. It's almost useless to anyone here. It's volume 16. Ask Google to tell you the issue number, date, and page within the issue. With that information, I can order a copy for you. Without it, I doubt if any volunteer can fill your request.
- To get the bibliographic details from Google, start on the page you linked. At the bottom, click "Report an issue". That brings up a "Contact us" form. Choose the last option, "I have a question or feedback about a book". Fill in the contact section, give them their page number 1042, categorize your inquiry as "Other", and explain what bibliographic information you need in order to request the article from the closed stacks of a library. They are usually very helpful. Help us help you. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:12, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Superman: The Unauthorized Biography's coverage on "The Death of Superman"

- @TheJoebro64: In the index it says Superman (character) "death" of 122-125, 243-249 but I can't confirm if that's what you need. If you search "death of superman" it has 14 search results or "the death of superman" which has 8 (none of which is available and I don't have the book access). A through check of the book would have to be done to see which search results are in depth and not passing references. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 20:47, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

Asbury Park Press
edit{{resolved}} I found the following reference on the Red Bank Catholic High School page ([1]), and I think it could have some useful information for the Antonella Barba page, which I recently expanded and had pass a GAN. I tried looking on WayBackMachine, but the url is not compatible with the site. This is probably a long shot, but I am curious if anyone has access to archived versions of Asbury Park Press and could find this particular article. Thank you in advance, and I understand if it is not possible. Aoba47 (talk) 05:31, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
References
- ^ "AMERICAN IDOL: What should Antonella sing?", Asbury Park Press, March 2, 2007, accessed April 13, 2007. "As a 2004 graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School, Barba was a member of the school's concert choir for four years as well as a part of RBC's elite doo-wop group."
- @Aoba47: Archives of the Asbury Park Press are available on Newspapers.com if you have an account. In regards to March 2nd 2007, the article that talks about Barba on that date does not mention choir/doo-wop but it does mention 2004 graduate. Title is "'Idol" fans for Barba in spite of judges". However, a 26 January 2007 article from the same paper does mention choir/doo wop. Would you prefer that one instead? Article name is "Ready for their shot at fame and fortune" (I updated the Red Bank Catholic High School article as well to reflect what you and I found). --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 21:45, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the update. Unfortunately, I do not have a Newspapers.com account Aoba47 (talk) 01:46, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Aoba47: In that case, I'll clip them out for you. You don't need to register to view someone else's clippings ;) Side note: for some reason the article is missing the 2nd half of the page so I'd have to clip out the other one where I saw it was mentioned. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 02:26, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you! I greatly appreciate it. Aoba47 (talk) 02:29, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Looking for reviews of Freud and Philosophy
editHello, I am looking for the reviews of Paul Ricoeur's Freud and Philosophy that appeared in the American Journal of Psychiatry, the International Philosophical Quarterly, and the Psychoanalytic Quarterly. Unfortunately I do not know the specific issues in which the reviews were published. If possible, I'd appreciate the text of these reviews, but even information such as the issue and volume numbers in which they appeared would be extremely helpful.
Thanks, FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 00:34, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- @FreeKnowledgeCreator: Most bibliographic information for the first two is readily available from the publisher's website:
- "Book Reviews: Freud and Philosophy". The American Journal of Psychiatry. 127 (7): 978-. January 1971. doi:10.1176/ajp.127.7.978.
- Ihde, Don (March 1972). "Briefer Book Reviews: Freud and Philosophy". International Philosophical Quarterly. 12 (2): 138–139. doi:10.5840/ipq197212123.
- "?". The Psychoanalytic Quarterly. ? (?).
- Since they have dois, someone here should be able to supply the first two. The third seems to have been digitized only back to 1990, so it may prove more difficult. --Worldbruce (talk) 01:22, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Worldbruce: I have digital access to the first and can email that to you. I have physical access to the second and third, but for various bureaucratic and personal reasons, won't be able to get them until I return in January. With regards to the third, I have physical access to the Psychoanalytic Quarterly from 1932 onward, so do you have a more specific period in which to search? I assume the 1970s, but any additional bibliographic information would help. Wugapodes [thɑk] [ˈkan.ˌʧɹɪbz] 06:00, 12 December 2018 (UTC) Oops, pinged the wrong person. Let's try again: @FreeKnowledgeCreator: Wugapodes [thɑk] [ˈkan.ˌʧɹɪbz] 06:01, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
- Freud and Philosophy was first published in English in 1970, so the Psychoanalytic Quarterly review would likely have been published early in the 1970s. FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 08:15, 12 December 2018 (UTC)

I don't have access, but can see the first page of each issue's book review section: it seems that there's a general 1 1/2–2 year lag between publication date and review. I'd suggest that someone with access check first these review sections, from mid 71–early 72: [16] [17] [18] [19] [20] , then these, from early 71: [21] and late 72: [22] [23]. Book for Chinese alligator

and Reports are known of alligators in China reaching 3.0 m (10 ft) in past centuries, but these are now generally considered apocryphal
, and if possible, see if it has anything else that could be useful for the page. Thanks, --SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 14:44, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

- @Tgeorgescu: It is somewhat surprising to me that the diploma is signed by Norman Abrams (upper right), as he apparently became acting chancellor on July 1, two weeks after Robbins graduated [54]. Also, all other images I found of UCLA diplomas (this one, e.g.) spell 'thereto' as one word. A quick search of pubmed doesn't turn up any published papers by him while affiliated with UCLA. Cheers, gnu57 20:19, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Tgeorgescu: He also does not appear on the UCLA molecular and medical pharmacology department's rosters of intradepartmental (2004) or interdepartmental (2005) graduate students. gnu57 01:55, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

Shulman's The King & The Clown - chapter from Project Muse?
edit- Shulman, Dean (2014) [1989]. The King and the Clown in South Indian Myth and Poetry. Princeton University Press. ISBN 978-1-40085-775-3.
I'm interested in chapter 7, "Bandits and Other Tragic Heroes" (pp. 340-400), available at Project Muse from this page. The last time I had a Muse TWL subscription, it wouldn't allow access to this. No idea if that has changed.
For Maravar, Kallar, probably another couple of related articles.
